Ride Report: Oroville Quincy Road

I took a ride up Oroville Quincy Road on Saturday, took some pics & video. I've reported on this road before, but thought you might enjoy these.

The bridge across Lake Oroville

Lake Oroville

Argh!!! Road work

I ended up taking a detour

Eventually I got to what I wanted

A well maintained road & flowing corners

There's still a bit of snow at the higher elevations, but the road's in good shape

That's one sweet road. Some sections of it are just oh-so sweet.

I did this road 2 weeks after it was paved back in '02 (or was it '01?). That's' a great road with beautiful scenery, kinda takes your breath away.

Be careful on the roads up here..there is some gravel still from the snow season..

ride safe..
edit: I was wearing knee protection under the jeans so only bumps and bruises got trough

That's exactly where.

RSVpower, I'm glad you're okay. Hope your bike's okay too. Yeah, you never know what might be around the next corner on those roads. Gravel, pine cones, dirt tracked onto the road by 4x4s. Its always best to make a slower pass on a section of road, looking for hazards, before playing around on it.

I looked up Quincy, CA in Google Maps and found more than one twisty around it. Can you tell me which it is?

Parallels and to the southeast of 70, between Quincy and Oroville... hence Quincy-Oroville Rd

Found it, cool. The one that goes through Berry Creek and Meadow Valley, right?

I'm adding it in my Google Maps now.
