6/18/07, one-day trip to Lassen National Park, CA
So, my buddy Mark came up with the awesome idea to go to Lassen national park. He posted a picture of the route, it looked good, so we went.
![]() <edit> Some details: From Davis to Lassen NP and back: 431 miles Gas stops: at Newville, Shingletown, and again in Chico. Newville-Shingletown =110 miles, Shingletown-Chico=120 miles. |

Here's Mark, giving you half a barf salute
![]() Shoulda done it the right way, karma's a bitch ![]() (kickstand folded by itself somehow) At Corning, we met up with Kent, Bill, and Doyle. Our humble group of an FZR6, CBR600RR, and an R1100S quickly turned into a motley crew involving SV650s and Hayabusas ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Last edited by Eisernkreuz; 06-20-2007 at 04:44 AM.. |

That above pic was at a restaurant in Shingletown, and we continued up the road toward Lassen (which was only 18 miles or so up from there). The entrance fee was $5 per motorcycle ($10 for cars) but once inside, we were treated to nice roads, amazing scenery, and even some roadside wildlift.
Here's the road leading up to the park ![]() ![]() ![]() Here's the group ![]() Rawr ![]() Here's one for you guys ![]() |

![]() Perhaps I should've put it on the center stand ![]() Whatever, it's still hot! ![]() On this trip, I had three fill-ups, after 110 miles, 111 miles, then 120 miles. I used 2.8, 2.75 and 2.6 gallons, respectively. So, I averaged 42mpg, which isn't bad for a fully-loaded liter+ boxer with the frontal area of a barn door, moving at 50-80mph ![]() |

My bike was hating the altitude.
as far as some of the roads go... Leesville Lodega & Lodega Stonyford are nice and goaty with some gravel sections, perfect for a dual sport/motard or an adventur tourer, or idiots haha. Manton is great for high speed runs. 89 was sweet in and out of the park. I liked 32 kinda dirty and rough but not any worse than the Berryessa area. pic time Leesville Lodega Rd. ![]() ![]() Miran is so friendly ![]() I need a better camera ![]() Dani got it from all sides ![]() ![]() |
