Quick ride report

Was getting ready to run down to Hollister to go see NorCalBusa's new shop. Then we decided tojust load the bike and do an overnighter. Decisions, decisions, where do we wanna go? Coast, mountains, valley? Well let's just head toward Tahoe and see what happens.

Little waterfall off the side of highway 50

Not much traffic on 50 at all. Enjoyed the scenery.

The view coming into Tahoe.

Rode into Tahoe and decided to keep going. Got to Carson City and kept going. Rode through Virginia City and saw a large street dance with folks in period cotumes. What a kick. Kept riding into Reno. If you have never ridden 341 it is a great road. We were on it as it got late and as you drop into Reno, the lights from the city were awesome. Sorry no pics. Had dinner in Reno and found that every hotel/motel/casino was filled. Some guy at at throw down fleabag motel said he had one room for $240 for the night. I don't think so. Jumped back on the bike and ran back to Carson City and spent the night.

Carson City has a thing for trains.

Got up and headed down 395 to 89. Then 89 to 4 to go up and over Ebbets Pass. Another beautiful little road in God's country. The scenery was off the charts.

Ebbets Pass (highway 4) is a blast to ride and we had the road mostly to ourselves except for the occasional group of Harleys heading the opposite direction.

The lakes at the top were a little crowded, Spicer, Mosquito and Lake Alpine had plenty of people enjoying the beautiful day. We took 4 all the way through Arnold where we found a craft fair going on, through Murphys, through Angels Camp and back to highway 99. Stopped for a quick lunch and found this beast in the parking lot.

Then super slabbed it back to town and disembarked my passenger. Decided I better hit the super secret test track before calling it a day.

Left at 4:30 on Saturday, back a little after 5:00 on Sunday. 536 miles of fun. Got 47 miles to the gallon. Didn't take many pictures because we were having a blast. The Autocom communication system is incredible. We listened to the MP3 player the whole trip and the Autocom automatically muted the music when either of us spoke through the VOX microphones. We could hear crystal clear even at above the posted limit.

Great day and a great ride.
