This Weekend's Willits Ride 7/26-27

What an awesome ride! It started by meeting NoGall at the beginning of Lucas Valley Road. We rode out to Tomales and had some breakfast. At that point, he had to turn back. Thank you for riding with me that far, NoGall!

I proceeded up the coast. The first pic is at Jenner.

It was foggy the whole way up the coast but very pleasant. And it was early, so I didn't hit alot of weekend traffic. I started up Skaggs Springs Road at about 10:30. The fog gave it kind of a surreal look.

But I have promises to keep

And miles to go before I sleep.

This next pic is also Skaggs Springs Road where it winds up the other side of a valley. Can you believe it's posted 30 mph up the other side.

After passing the Lake Sonoma Dam, this vineyard was along Dry Creek Road. This was just before I took Dutcher Creek Road toward Cloverdale.

Stopped to eat lunch in Cloverdale, then started across Hwy 128 toward Mendocino--68 miles of riding bliss. If you go early enough in the morning or during the week, you won't hit as much traffic. This hairpin is at the beginning.

From Ft. Bragg, I took Hwy 20 over to Willits. If you haven't done this road before, put it on your "must ride" list. It is as awesome as this sign attests. More cycling heaven!

Not only is the road fun to ride, but the scenery is beautiful. Here is a little valley on the way.

OK, last one. This is the view of the Noyo Valley just before you go over the ridge into Willits and after one of the nicest series of curves I've ever ridden. Turn after turn, for miles, will hone your riding skills. I've ridden the road both directions, and it is fun both ways.

Thumbs up Nice, very nice!

Too bad that Red bike kept getting in the way of the shots

About how far from the north end of the GG Bridge was that Jenner photo taken (how far to Jenner?) It looks like a very nice beach!

I finally got my new tires, so I'm all ready for some looooonng rides!!

Nice pics!
