Utah - a little road trip

I left the Friday after Thanksgiving, destination Utah. Just got back tonight, Monday, around 7:30ish. Only really took pictures one of the days, Saturday that was...here's some of the things I saw. First up, watch those roads in Utah...a little bit of ice!!!

Actually, this was the only ice I saw on the road my entire trip, it was easily avoided.

The picture above was taken in a part of Zion National Park, just like this picture here was...beautiful place, when Utah says scenic drive, they mean it!!

Some random canyon in Zion...

After passing through Zion, the road took me to Bryce Canyon, which my pictures don't really do it justice, but I tried.
First, some rocks near or maybe in Bryce Canyon, not sure if I was officially in the park yet or not.

The next day I headed off to the Hoover Dam, passed Lake Mead of the way...I think that's Pam & Tommy in the little boat in the background...

And here's a view from the top of Hoover Dam... you wouldn't want to fall down there. Yes, it's huge and high, as you might have guessed.

Pics I missed:
My bike by the Welcome to Utah sign.
My bike by the Welcome to Arizona sign.
My bike on the strip in Vegas.

The signs I missed because I passed both of them at night, by the time I saw them I was already past them. No pics of the bike on the strip because I couldn't think of a good place to park for the pic!

It was a great trip! Great weather and great scenery, I think the area I went to would be a geologists wet dream.

No idea if I was in 4 corners or moab...maybe? I went up 15 to Utah, and visted Zion and Bryce in Utah as well as passed through the Valley of Fire in Nevada, but no idea what if anything those areas are called!

Great Pics! Good to know there are still riders that just hop on the bike and go ride!

It's an aggressive riding position, but I've got a Corbin and a throttle rocker, and I wasn't in pain. I rode straight to Utah the first day, 737 miles, and I was amazed I never got any pain or discomfort! I only stopped because it was dark and had been for hours, and I wanted to actually see the scenery. Speed limits of 75 MPH in Utah, but everyone was doing 90+, so the miles flew by.
1940 miles total and the only trouble I had was the last 40 miles home, From Livermore where it started raining on me, until home in Pittsburg. My face shield wasn't prepared, had trouble seeing, had to pull over three times in those short 40 miles!

MrCrash, nice meeting you the other day, thanks for the help and I'm sure you'll get out that way soon and when you do, you're going to love it! Even though I already took the trip if you ever find those articles with the road maps, I'd still like to see them.

Great ride and I'm glad I did it this time of year because it's a definite desert landscape, even in winter it LOOKS hot!
