Trip to Beartooth Pass, Montana

Here's my "little" write up on my latest sport-touring ride to Beartooth Pass between Montana and Wyoming. It was 8 days through the California Sierras, Hwy 50 in Nevada, Yellowstone Park in Wyoming and back through Idaho, Crater Lake, Oregon and Northern California.

Wow!

My heart leaped for joy of the memories. I lived and worked in Cooke City for a few summers while I was in college at Montana State. I remember one summer it snowed on the 4th of July. I really do miss that awesome place.

Thanks for posting the pics.

Glad you had a safe trip.

Good report. I've got a picture of beartooth pass that looks very similar from when the wife and I drove through there. LOL

Thanks for the info. I'm burning through my first Z6 and will prolly get about 5k out of it. A group of us were just up on 96. To bad you didn't head east out of Happy Camp. I think that is the best road I've been on. Glad your tire lasted long enough to get ya home! Let me know when you go on another adventure

So little time, so many roads. I headed south so I could hit 299 and 36. They never get old. I plan to go to Cave Junction before summer is over and visit the caves for a two or three day quicky. I'll stick that stretch of 96 in my itinerary. I can post when I set a date to see if anybody's up for it.

P.S. I don't know how heavy the Sprint is but the B-rated Z6's for heavier bikes are available in the US now. I found out when I replaced mine at Road Rider.

After November it gets pretty rainy and icy north of Eureka I hear. I am looking at the first two weeks of September a three day weekend maybe.

Awesome write-up dude!

I'll be getting in some sport-touring myself in the next couple of months (after my bike get's a valve-check, a new CCT, and a 50,000mile tune-up from Elskip).
