Thumbs up Sac>Tahoe>Bodie>Yosemite ride report & pics

I love these longer rides like this. And I had to get it in before the passes start getting covered with snow. Day had sort of an odd start. After a week of perfect riding weather, I wake up to wet streets and fog. Yep, it showered over night. Rode over to the group meeting spot at 7am where a bunch of people said they were coming. Well, only one other guy was there (thanks Nathan). No one showed so we decided to at least go up to Placerville to eat breakfast and meet with another rider and see how the weather is.
Just before coming into Placerville we come out of the clouds and it's nothing but sunshine ! Ate breakfast then the 3 of us headed to Tahoe. The 3rd rider we picked up in Placerville had a bad oil leak that was oiling his rear tire on his Triumph so he turned around at hwy 89. Nathan and I continued on highway 89 up and over Monitor Pass and then into Bridgeport for lunch. LOTS of dirtbikers in town when we got there. I only bought one gallon of the most expensive gas of my life hoping it was cheaper in Lee Vining.
Then we headed up to Bodie, walked around and came back to hwy 395. We parted ways and Nathan went back to Sac and I continued South. I had plans to stay in Modesto that night at a friend's house. Went past Mono Lake and into Lee Vining for more $3/gal gas . Then went on over Tioga Pass and thru Yosemite. Got a handy dandy speeding ticket trying to outrun the snow/rain that was supposed to be coming that evening and the setting sun because I only had a tinted shield. $50 and no points on my record so I can't complain too much .
Made it to Modesto after dark, but safe none the less. All in all a great day to ride. No real bike problems and beautiful clouds and scenery with the only rain coming in sprinkles going over Tioga Pass.

Dropping down towards Tahoe:

Only sportbikes in the parking lot at Bodie. Lots of dirtbikes and a group of Harleys, too.

Tioga Pass entrance to Yosemite. Gotta take out the windbreaker at this point since it's getting cold!
