Removing Blinker: cbr 600

Hi everybody. I'm looking to get some flush mount blinkers for my cbr600 f4i and was wondering how you remove the original blinkers (as simple as possible). Any help is much appreciated. If anyone has any other info regarding flush mount blinkers let me know. Thanks

It's been a while, but.... Unclip blinkers from harness, remove side fairings or tail fairings. Completely remove the blinkers and cut the short blinker wires in the middle. Connect your flushmounts to these wires then reclip them to the main harness. Remember, cutting these wires in the middle allows you to "reconnect" your OEM blinkers if needed. Take care of any bare wires and don't cause shorts.

Use this info at your own risk though.... Often you'll lose the running light option on them and you can be cited for these things b/c most if not all aren't DOT approved.

Be aware that you might get hassled by the cops, esp. now that they are cracking down on sport bikes with illegal mods.

I looked at the CVC, all it says about side mounted lights are that they must be visible from 300 ft and NOT WHITE. Amber and red lights are fine. CVC section 24951 says it must be clearly visible. Section 24953 says blinkers must be amber or red. I emagine that cops write for either of those two sections since a lot of aftermarket blinkers are small in size or come with white lights. Watch out for those pesky CHP.

They must be DOT rated.
