it's funny they didn't get famous till they started dropping stuff. their original content (still do some) was all trick shots of various kinds. at first i thought they were dumb.. but have found a point of connection watching their vids with my 6 year old. so much fun!

In the first few episodes of Forged in Fire, one of the finalists forge was homemade out of a small satellite dish.

Thanks for the link bluepig. Unfortunately, this is the most chipped up anvil that I have seen yet. Seller will be lucky to get $1 per pound for this poor, abused anvil.

No worries. It looked beat up, but since I don't know much about the hobby, I don't know how much that affects performance.

Thank you very much for the effort.
I have seen all of those ads, and am actually waiting to hear back from 2 of the Market place sellers.
And just for info, that first listing is a modern cheap Chinese cast piece of junk.
Thanks again for good links.

No, just cheaper steel that is cast, not forged. If you do any cold metal work, they will chip off. They are NOT made for serious cold or hot metal work.

I gave up and settled for a smaller ACCIAIO.

Those cheap anvils are cast iron, not cast steel, which isn't too bad...

Here's some entertainment

Bluepig: WOW! $1900? That's CRAZY money for that anvil!

I was able to get a 1918 Hey Budden 205 pound Anvil.
For size reference, that is a Ford C4 transmission right behind it.
It's well used, but not abused. The rebound is better than 90%, and it has all the characteristics I was looking for in a vintage anvil. I will post up a picture after I complete the wood round mount for it.
Thanks to everyone who helped me look.
