Resurrecting 2000 SV650 race bike

Figured this is a good place to document this.
10 days I go I ran across an ad on Facebook for an SV650 track bike.
Been sitting for "a couple, three years" (I think longer).
Seemed to be a solid bike. Keihin FCR 41 carbs, Penske shock, ZX6R front end, Marchesini magnesium wheels.

Got it home and took off the body work to see what I had:

Fuel lines hard as a rock but nothing scary so far. Tank filler needed a wrench to get it off. I peered cautiously inside. Ooh I smell race gas! I dumped out 2 gallons or so and it looked great! No rust, no varnish, nothing! Very encouraging.

Ooh a steering damper:

Custom battery holder:

Front AP racing master cylinder was frozen solid. Had to hammer out the piston. Rusty rusty rusty. In the bin it goes.

Front brakes, about what I expected:

Ultrasonic cleaner got a work out:

Cleaned up nice:

Next the forks. Mmmmm silvery.

But again, nothing scary.
