Results for 9-15-21. I think we had 15 bikes in the class. Another strong headwind 11mph at the start of racing. I made it to the finals were I lost to Current runaway points leader Doug Love. Merlin showed up in his new Rav 4 and made some great passes on 4 wheels!

First round I raced James on his zx14. I dialed a 9.35 and ran a 9.401. James dailed a 10.50 and broke out running a 10.479. Next round I raced Eric on his Aprilia, I dialed a 9.38 and ran a 9.391. Eric broke out running a 10.607 on a 10.65 dial. He ran his best numbers on that run also. I seem to bring the best out of people when they line up against me lol.

Next round I face Brad on his hard running 2005 R1. I dial a 9.36, trying to figure out if the wind is going to die down or keep picking up. Brad dials a 10.00. I run a 9.379 and again, my opponent breaks out as Brad runs a 9.971.

In the finals I meet up with the always on the money Doug Love. I dial a 9.36 again and I have my best reaction time .021 of the night at the perfect time but still not good enough. Doug has a .015 reaction time and now I have to play catch up. Doug is right on with his dial, running a 13.211 on a 13.20 and I run a 9.39 on my 9.36 dial, close but not good enough. Doug beats me by .0261 and takes home the win for the night.

Next race will be September 29th.

Racing is back on for tonight 9-29-21. Gates to the dragstrip open at 4pm but you can enter the track earlier. Best to get there early as possible anytime after 2 pm is best, to get through tech and be ready to race at 4pm.

Welcome my daughter back from Las Vegas when you see her at the gate tonight! The track sent her there to work the NASCAR race over the weekend (again). That is not her favorite thing to do.
However, she does love working the Wednesday night races and seeing you "regulars" every week, especially you, Joe. She often says how nice you are. (true story)
Good luck tonight!

Not really, just lodging and a meal allowance.
They seem to think that trip is cooler than it actually is.

Late update to last Wednesday night (9-29-21) racing. What a strange night for me. We had 11 bikes in the motorcycle class. Good to see Jennifer back out so quickly after her accident on the freeway, what a trooper! Things go as normal as can be in the practice session. The first round was perfect, no headwind. It was a wasted run for me as a spun the tire hard off the line and aborted the run. The next run I make a 9.37 pass as the wind has changed and is back to its normal headwind self. The next run I make a 9.38 pass and then the last practice run is a 9.355. I have some good numbers to set my dial in time with and settle on a time of 9.34 for my first elimination round time. I race Brad on the R1 and get lucky, I have been running the tank low on gas to save weight and I push my luck too far, right after the start my bike stumbles then picks back up, my time is way off 9.45 but I luck out as Brad breaks out, he runs a 9.894 on a 9.95 dial. Next round I match up with Tyler on his stretched hard running ZX10. Tyler has had my number the last month, constantly out running me. We decide to make it a heads up race, first to the finish line wins. we both set our dials at 9.00, may the quicker rider win. We take off and I don't see or hear Tyler at all, this is strange because he is normally right next to me or in front of me. On the return road I ask him what happened and he honks his horn, the horn should not be working as it doubles for his air shifter button. He forgot to turn the air shifter on. I ask the tower if we can rerun the race because I wanted a fair race. After some convincing, they allow us to rerun that race. We both run good and it was a fun fair race. I win. I run a 9.23 to Tyler's 9.27 Next round comes up quick, there are only 3 bikes left. I have to go add fuel and I get to the staging lanes seconds late as they had just called bikes up to race. I make it up to the line, but I am disqualified for being late to the staging lanes....That's racing....Doug Love wins again in a close finals and he wraps up the season points championship.

Another nice write-up, Joe.
And once again, Mr. Consistent Doug pads his bursting trophy case.
