Nice!

I had no idea anal bleaching required so much prep work.

I figure if I'm going in for a colonoscopy, they can at least make the area presentable for the pics I'm gonna send you later, honey

sadly, it's not a colonoscopy and it's not even my procedure. Stanford wanted the whole household tested. My 2 year old needs an MRI, which will take 2 hours. Best to sedate him for it.

thanks man!

I hope you don't take that as a clapback or anything towards you. I took no negativity in the statement. We're in covid 2020 world, life is in jest

trials and tribulations of a parent.

We "should" be good though.

PS this is why I have taken the quarantine so serious. A positive test would push the MRI another month. Each subsequent test would do similar. Without an MRI, we can't tell if it's superficial or not. It presents as superficial and should be a nothingburder.

Ditto

Been on the Dad side of this stuff before.
Slept on the floor under my sons bed at Stanford when my oldest had some serious shit at 2 when they had no cots left.

Dr told me the next morning he thought it was a dog and how the hell did they allow a dog into the ICU

Best wishes.

Wishing you the best for a positive outcome all around.

Having your kid in a hospital situation is a very very very worrying thing.

Well, from everything I've read, Scandinavians in general, and Swedes in particular, do trust their scientists and follow their guidelines.

In the US?

Not so much.

Mind you there is rioting in UK, Germany and elsewhere over threats of more lockdowns so hard to paint Europe with a broad brush.

Dr. Anders Tegnell, Sweden’s chief epidemiologist...

youtu.be/z6fRQ7u8Dok

It point's to THIS article.

Excerpts...

Quote:
As Tegnell told Andrew Neil on Spectator TV:

“We looked at the [Imperial] model and we could see that the variables that were put into the model were quite extreme... Why did you choose the variables that gave extreme results? So we were always quite doubtful. We did some work on our own that pointed in quite a different direction. In the end, it proved that our prognosis was much closer to the real situation. Probably because we used data that we felt we could understand and coming from the actual situation, and not from some kind of theoretical model.”

Andrew Neil asked Tegnell if he’s saying of the Imperial model: rubbish in, rubbish out. He replied

“You have to be very careful about models. They’re not made to do prognosis, they are made to test various different kind of measures to take, to see what kind of effect they might have. Because as you said: rubbish in, rubbish out.”

Andrew Neil then this makes him wonder if the UK government interrogated the Imperial College data to the same degree that Tegnell did. “Yup. I think that’s a good question for somebody to look into in the future,” he replied. But then he made an intriguing point:

“If we could have more openness, and we could have had some more discussion on a technical level between countries before these decisions were taken, I think we could have arrived at something – together – that would have worked better than the situation we have right now.”

Yes, with no question mark, that appears good for Sweden.

For info, Sweden's new-case rate has been flat, averaging < 5 cases per day per 100K population for the past two months. That's the same as NY/NJ/CT as I showed in this post. Only they're doing it without lockdown or masks.
