If you are hard set on no hood. a downdraft is the way to go. not saying it's the preferred method overall

I somewhat agree, but having owned one, it seems that not having any exhaust is pretty much the same thing. Plus, they collect debris depending on how they are configured.

I agree. In our experience, the downdraft is only effective when using a pan that is lower than the downdraft and positioned right next to it. Even then, it has the drawback of pulling cool air over the food.

Hood is best option. The one that recirculates air kind of works, but not as good and smell remains longer.

Found they ran the disposal and one of the wall plug circuits on a 12/3 w/ground, RED BLACK Neutral and Ground so sharing a neutral and ground. Wall outlet will have an AFGF plug for protection. Disposal will be on an AFGF breaker. Will this work with the neutral running through the AFGF breaker?
Just an FYI I got my answer from the city inspector, I called to ask. He said they can share a neutral and ground. The two breakers will need to be linked so they rip together. When I asked specifically if neutral from an AFGF outlet can be hooked to the AFGF breaker this is the answer I got. "Code has not kept up with technology. You can wire it that way by code by it may or may not work." I am going to pull another wire. Soon I will be too old to crawl through the attic.

Drywall up, Ceiling and walls painted. Cabinets delayed until 3-5-19

On hurry up and wait. Have the countertop guys scheduled for 3-7 to do their templates. Feel like we are camping with extra room...
