Pictures from Fins n Things trail. This one is no joke. It was a combination of of the slickrocks and ledges that we rode at the Slickrock trail with random rocks and SAND!

Chillin in this canyon

The chillin happened after going down this

Anytwowilldo having a good time

Getting ready to roll out

Interesting mound shaped rock

Was riding along and everyone just passed this view up I had to stop snap a picture of this and get passed by a bunch of side by sides. There is a cliff and just this awesome view.

Wow HadesOmega is so fast you don't even realize he stopped for pictures, he just rolls in a few seconds after the lead riders.

Yesterday Eric B and I hindered Jackson's flat change while the rest of the group, now including Sasquatch, headed off to ride more Sovereign ATV. Jackson replaced the used condom he was using as an inner tube with a real, thick, heavy-duty tube and the three of us left in search of more Sovereign singletrack.

We didn't have much time and finally settled on a 52" max vehicle width trail that turned out to be very fun, with a scenic stop for me.

Jackson and I will have some epic video of that trail. At the pinch point between two boulders I got both bar ends and my pipe stuck. As Tuco from Breaking Bad would say, Tight! Tight! Tight!

We headed back and found the rest of the group already packed up. They had ridden some sand straightaways or something, eating quadtard dust.

Yours truly planned today's route, Hurrah Pass to Chicken Corners, and Kane Creek.

OaklandF4I siesta time again finds a nice cool spot

Awesome geology here

Purple unicorn looks right at home.

Rocks and ledges everywhere, machine vs rocks! This is a messed up section one misplaced rock slab, steps, and steepness. 2strokeyardsale riding someone elses 2stroke up this tough section.

So the second time we went out to ride we were going to do an easier ride at a place called Gemini Bridges which I had planned to ride on my quad but we wound up doing the ATV trails on the Sovereign trail. I just recently fixed my quad a Yamaha Warrior 350 and was eager to get some seat time on it. I haven't ridden a quad much less this one for more than a year. Also I had never ridden a quad in the desert. I was worried if it'd be ok but a couple donuts in the parking lot confirmed it was ok. I knew the quad would beat me up pretty bad on the rocky section, quads can't go over rocks as smoothly as bikes. I was riding it at a pretty good speed enough to keep up with everyone else. The only time I really had an advantage is on something flat or SANDY. The 2WD has a definite advantage over a moto's 1WD in the sand. I was able to get great video and pictures on the quad cause you can just sit on it and pull out the camera. I was pretty much the chase vehicle.

Riding the quad made me kind of lazy because it made me want to sit more. I thought I was kinda holding the group back because I can't go some places the bikes can go but it did ok, provided we didn't do any single track. The quad is not easy to get over ledges. Also I noticed like a motorcycle you don't want to fight the quad on the bumps just kinda move with it especially if you hit a rock and it moves the handlebars it best to try to move with it, because its pretty violent. OaklandF4I gave me a lot of $hit for deploying the quad but I don't regret it, I can have fun on 2 wheels or 4 wheels and I had a blast and I didn't hold the group up as bad as I thought I would. From what I hear the quad makes a dust storm behind it.

QUAD PORN! This quads name is Wall-e since it looks like the robot from Wall-e, the previous owner called it that.

Quick update..... Three fantastic days of riding thus far.

As already mentioned, we have the purple unicorn award. 1962siia inherited it from me on the second day after a number of nominations. Most notable was asking for someone to ride to his CR up a ledge without even attempting. New nominations for today's rides to discuss over dinner.

We also have a second dailey award, that.... well.... we can't mention its name on the forum. It rhymes with lard, bard, guard, and motard. So we will call it the daily unmentionable. Merlin was awarded it after yesterday's ride. 1) for pulling quad off the trailer and actually riding it and 2) doing donuts on it while dusting everyone in the staging area.

Multiple nominations for tonight's dinner. Twosteokeyardsale may have one as he lead us to 3 or 4 staging spots until he found one suitable to unload his YZ.

We also had a rider go down hard today. Sasquatch took a tough tumble. The group's first concern was the loss of our Chef. After Lunchbox offered to step in, we got to work gettin Sasquatch medical attention. Non life threatening, but the big guy is quiet and resting.

Last night Eric B and I came up with an easy, scenic route that everybody could do without a walk of shame. The Plan was Hurrah Pass-Chicken Corner then backtrack to Kane Creek Canyon and ride it as a spur.

There was a well-maintained dirt road and some people were not happy riding it. We all followed Eric B back to help a woman who stuck her truck in her camp site. Some Jeepers with a winch also helped.

We finally got going again and the road got rougher but it was still a road not a trail. It got more fun as it became the switchbacks up Hurrah Pass, which had a scenic overview of the river.

NorcalSlowpoke snapped these pics of Jackson playing around.

OaklandF4i photobomb!

I cracked the whip, no lollygagging allowed, and got everybody on the road again. Soon Jackson pulled over, saying he was going back to the truck because the road was boring (it was) and it was tearing up his tires (not the road's fault). That left nine of the Moab mob to make it to Chicken Corner.

We walked around the goat path over the river. Bikes were not allowed or I would have ridden.

Walk carefully, it's a long way down.

I sat over the edge for a snack.
