Went to ride where the sun is shining - BARF

Well decided to go down to Palm Desert and visit after having enough cold and rain in the Bay Area. It was 44 degrees and heavy overcast until I got to Coalinga and then I drove out from under the clouds and by the time I was at Grapevine is was 71 degrees. Rode today up Palms to Pines and over to Idylwyld and down to Banning then I10 home. A nice 130 mile loop and pretty sunny except for a few dark clouds rolling in from the coast and about 68 in the valley but just a bit cold up top. I would have taken more pictures but I was having too much fun. Will ride again over the next few days to might post more.

Here we are at the intersection of 371 and 74. I rode down to Anza. It is a nice little 6 mile jaunt. There is a store and gas station and cafe. Then I continued past Lake Hemet.

It is a little straight past Lake Hemet but very pretty. Then right after the lake the road winds over the hills up to 5000 feet and it is very fun with lots of variety.

Here we are approaching Mt. Center then just 5 miles more to Idlwyld. The rest of the road is very windy though the mountain top and pine trees with lots of elevation changes going up to 6000 feet.

Here we are looking down towards Banning. This road is a nice down hill run with lots of good turns.

Here we are at the bottom taking a rest at the Freeway stop and looking back up at the Mountain. Those clouds looked dark but they didn't rain on me.

That is all for now. There were plenty of other good shots but it is kind of hard to stop on the narrow shoulder and besides I was having fun and you just have to come down and ride these roads. I will post more as I ride in the next few days.
