I think it got to 118.

This whole side of the state has been in the 100 to 109 range all week.

That was the main reason I didn't go with a Superhawk. They get the same crappy mileage as my RC51. I would have been hosed on any other bike.

Yep, it was 118 the day we were in Vegas. The heat was blistering. I was never so happy to come back home to the nice overcast summer weather here in the Bay Area.

They're Metzler MEZ4's. They had 5k miles on them when I left, and have about 7200 on them now. They've got maybe another 1k left in them before the center is gone. They're good sport touring tires. I wouldn't take them to a track because they're kind of a hard compound, but they stick well enough if you ride within the law on the street.

Wow! That looks like it was fun, save for the heat.
I'm surprized you had'nt abandoned the jackets in the 100+degree heat? I would of. Funk-dat. I remember the couple short 100 degree days we had here last week, it was nearly unbearable wearing a jacket. My only mistake on a trip like that would have been ACTIDENTLY filling the camelback with Margarita

I cant wait till next year......

Oh good god no. I would have turned around after we hit Carmel. That bike is not really designed to ride 2-up.

That was very kewl.

My BF rode from Palo Alto to Watertown, NY and took all of maybe two pictures. I wasn't able to go with him, so I wonder what he was REALLY up to out there.......then again he made the whole trip in three days.

Thx for sharing.

Luckily 40 miles east of Kingman, you start to go up in elevation, so the temperature begins to drop. I never thought I'd be so happy to be driving in 98° weather.

Nice trip

Now that was some riding. I thought it was a long day when I rode to Boise Idaho from San Francisco in 12 hours straight. Only stopping for gas. You got me beat. Oh ya props to Kim for being on the back for a long ass trip like that. My wife said she would NEVER ride on my sport bike to Tahoe with me again. ( I don't know why )

Thank you for sharing. Now I know you were serious when you mentioned you were doing this ride. Glad you made it through! Yes, always carry a tiny bottle of solution to clean the visor (2-3 drops of dish soap with water works great), and a microfiber cloth to wipe clean. Cheap, works great!

See you around the meets and maybe some rides!
