Damn man that looks awesome. If I wasn't so tired from Saturday's ride, I'd go up there now... Job? What job?

Thanks guys! Frankly, I don't think you can do these roads without spending at least 3 days: one for the trip up, and at least 2 to explore the roads. My preference would be to at least do 4 days. Weaverville is a great central point for everything.

Also note, if you plan on camping, no problem, but if you need a motel for the night, you'd better be on the 101 side or the 5 side, because motels are few and far between on these roads. Pretty sure 36 between 101 and 5 doesn't even have one and I can't think of any on 96 or 299, but that's not to say there aren't any. 3 might be better as it's a kind of alternative to highway 5.

Thanks for the Pics Tim. Next time your up this way drop me a line and I'll be happy to ride the area with you. We do 299 most weekends for a lunch ride.
Glad you had a good time, Lonster

Thanks, Lonster, I'll definitely do that.
And, Ezekiel, there are motel accommodations in Weaverville, possibly also in Willow Creek. Weaverville is a great central location, but you can come from Red Bluff, Redding, Eureka, or Fortuna areas as well.

A couple years ago, I was in Willow Creek (for a downhill mountain bike race), but didn't get to "ride" the roads. Thanks to your cool pics....I now remember how awesome the roads looked.
I think I will plan to ride there this summer. Thanks ![]()
