Hot off the press McMaster Catalog

ALL GONE. Gave last copy to neighbor's kid who is into robotics.

These are the go to Bibles for your shop. Perfect gift for your favorite bike modder, tinkerer, engineer, machinist, or maker in your life. Or get it for yourself ;-)

If you don't know what these are check out:
https://www.mcmaster.com/
https://hackaday.com/2017/09/13/noob...mcmaster-carr/

Unopened and ready for your browsing pleasure.

Hard to find since they don't send it to just anyone. Ya gotta spend a small fortune with them every year.

Never knew there was a market for these catalogs. I still get these every year at work and end up tossing them in the recycle bin every time.

There are folks who still use the print version but fewer for sure. We will see.

I encourage you to hug a tree and pass it on rather than throw it away. Or sell and donate a portion to barf

McMaster-Carr has one of the best web pages of any supplier that I have seen or used. Very intuitive and easy to find what you are looking for.

They also have 2d (pdf) and 3d CAD models for just about everything they sell.

They make great monitor stands.

I don't know why but I never shop Grainger. How does it differ from McMaster?

McMaster is so well organized, CAD models, ordering, history, etc. and stuff comes overnight at the ground rate since Silicon Valley is near their LA warehouse. Not the cheapest but oh so convenient.

BTW do you use the print catalog for anything besides ballast?

Grainger is like Pep Boys. . .eventually you get something that will do the job but it isn't really correct, the counter staff are inefficient and clueless, the simplest transaction takes three times as long as a hardware store and the pricing is 10-15% more than what you want to pay for something that doesn't fit right.

McMaster Carr all the way. I called once because I was having a problem and the person who answered the phone got everything right, got me priced and ordered and then personally carried the order down to shipping so I would have it the next day. Try getting that with Grainger.

I love the paper edition for the garage. Internet is nice and all, but nothing is a real substitute for flipping through pages

How much to slap a new label on the 2019 edition it and ship to me in Alameda?

I can paypal or Venmo.
