Updated Laguna sound restrictions??? 105dB???

I'm seeing some car events and even a moto event on the calendar this year that state 105dB limits. Has there been an increase this year in sound limits which were previously 92dB?

If so, this is quite a development. Any insight or clarity from those in the know is much appreciated.

Laguna Seca has always had a few "loud days" each year. But only a few.

I feel like your avatar would be most track-heads if Laguna loosened up the rules to be more in line with Sonoma, THill, or Buttonwillow

My understanding is - the 'unlimited' sound days are allocated each year for the big events. There were far fewer of those big events in 2020 and even this year, so the days were put up for bid. They are quite a bit more expensive than the 90db 'regular' days.

I can't see that as a permanent feature going forward

Track Daz has an Unlimited sound event scheduled for October 2ndÖitíll cost you 5 bills though, which is about a 50% premium vs. normal 92 db days.

I generally do every event I can at Laguna because a) I love the track and b) itís 45 minutes from my house so no overnight lodging required, which makes the total event cost similar to less expensive tracks that are 4+ hours away from Santa Cruz.

Yea…was scheduled for that 105db day…but same weekend as the rescheduled US MotoGP. :/

But the TrackDaz ticket refund paid for my 2 day stay out in Austin.

Laguna has 105db days if you want to pay for it. All you have to do is go to Laguna's reservation site and they'll show you how much it will cost to rent the track based on how many db you're seeking. There's a reason why 105 is not common (just look at the $$$$$).
