![]() To replace my Speed Triple.
2019 models. Tuono Factory is listed at 16K. RSV4 RR is listed at 14.9K. I’m awaiting out the door prices as I type this. I do a mix of riding, but I think I mostly want that 200hp above all else, and also want to experience a true sport bike for a while. On the other hand, the Tuono is probably more comfy, and more powerful down low and midrange. |

Clip-ons and 200hp are needed to keep up with freeway traffic nowadays.

Why? The DMV will tell you everything you need to know: https://www.dmv.ca.gov/portal/vehicl...ee-calculator/
Also: be sure you're familiar with the range limits imposed by the Aprilia's fuel tank before deciding to buy. I consider buying one about every other other year and that's always been the deal-breaker for me... |

if you ride it the way its meant to be ridden you’ll want clip ons or youll be pushing on the handlebars like a short armed t rex and it wont be fun. If you dont care about getting everything out of it and youd rather be comfier as you ride from canyon to canyon, get the tuono.

I have a RSV4 and Vtwin Tuano.
The RSV4 is great for the track but will punish you going over Mt Hamilton or to Coaling or on a 5 hr or two day ride. The Tuano is much more suitable for street riding and has more lower end power. Both bikes are really in the zone a higher speeds than the Vtwin Tuano which is much better for the posted 30-55 mph roads around here. Instructors use the Tuano for the track and are just fine. Although I like the RSV4 for the track I often wonder if one V4 Tuano would do the job that I have two bikes for. But then again the Vtwin is right sized for sane speeds on the street. |

I think I told you before but the Speed 3RS is the gentleman's Tuono. I really liked the triumph but have no intention of getting rid of my Tuono and they are too similar for me to own both. Ive never ridden an RSV4. I should remedy that but for what I do the Tuono is perfect. If I was going to track it 5+ times a year I would consider the RSV4. The 1100 T compared the the 1000 RSV4 makes more power through its whole rev range and the RSV only pips it at the higher range because it keeps spooling. Personally there are few times where I rev past 10-11K. The Tuono has plenty of torque everywhere to get you moving. I've sat on the RSV and found it to be one of the least comfortable supersports available but I hear people often say that for a supersport it is pretty comfortable.
As far a fuel range, I get 140+ per tank when I want to. The worst thing you can do for your mileage is drive slow or stop at lights/signs etc. It's not a commuter and isn't happy going slow. The bike idles at 1500 rpm and drinks heavy. It's also a little tricky to fill the tank all the way. Most people don't and lose about 15-20 miles range because of it. So it's not great range but there are many bikes that do worse. |

For the street: Tuono.
For poser points at Starbucks or in order to look back and have no regrets that you had the ultimate speed machine RSV RR. |
