My twin Tuono was the best street bike I ever owned, in terms of fun. God I loved that thing.
I don't want clipons on the street.

He's right ya know!
That's not just cause he's old either! It's just the right thing. I don't think you can really go fast enough on the street often enough to warrant the need for clip on's. If you're not going fast on track they are just a list of downsides. Bars are better

I’ve got a ‘16 Tuono and am still in love with it after three plus years and 15k miles. You don’t buy this bike because of it’s fuel tank range. It’s a bike that will do it all. I’ve done 550 miles in a day and have done 18 or so track days in the last couple years. It can be a commuter but that’s not really it’s strength. That V4 goodness is tough to beat. Like I’ve been saying for a while, there’s no other bike out right now that I’d rather have. RSV4 has more top end power that would be better for the track but would probably be lost out on the roads.

Been in the dealer 3 times for a stalling engine. This third time it’s been 2 full weeks and still not fixed.
Besides that, it’s a fantastic bike. Great power, torque curve flattest there is, handles good, stops well, nice fueling. I’m sure I’ll miss everything about it except the engine stalling issue, which occurred about 25% if the time when idling at a stop. Last edited by East Bay Mike; 09-19-2020 at 03:43 PM.. |

I see after I made my deposit that Rockridge Two Wheels (where I am getting the Tuono) has a 2019 RSV4 Factory for $6.2k off and 0% for 48 months. That’s the best deal I’ve seen by far, that is real tempting.
The sales guy said the Tuono is shipping from a warehouse fresh out of the crate. Now I’m semi wanting the RSV4 Factory. I can’t make my mind up...... |

I put the deposit down and he said it will arrive mid-week. Wednesday/Thursday. I’d pick it up Friday.
My insurance guy will send me the quote tomorrow for RSV4 Factory. The RSV4 RR was quoted at $170 a month. I don’t feel good paying that much, but, I work enough overtime, and have few other expenses so I can handle it, but don’t know if I can justify it. I’ll sit on the bikes on Tuesday to see, just wish I could do a test ride. |

Holy shit that’s high. Shop around. I’ve had a ton of big bikes with a few speeding tickets and never came close to paying that much. No way.

Now with the new RSV4 Factory 1100 being the same engine size it would be interesting what the price difference would be between that an the Tuono. $170 a month seems pretty high to me but a lot depends on deductibles, maximums, your record, other vehicles, total miles per year etc etc. |
