No you can do it without a plate. There are a couple ohv corridors open between Penny and Stony.

I installed a new chain and sprockets on my big dirt bike -KTM 990 .

Time to do dem fork seals again on the KLX170, going to be hitting the dunes in a few weeks can't have all that sand sticking to my forks. Oil was still pretty clean but the left side fork (the one with the brake caliper on it) was leaking for a while. Changed fluid from 15wt to 10wt and put the oil level at the max allowable from the manual. Would like to soften up the front but not too much.

Installed my 60T Primary Drive brand chain (I managed to warp the 60T sprocket) on my 54T Luna Cycle honda sprocket kit. Wound up cutting only one link.

havent done anything to. one,was gonna rebuild the rear shock but got covid so I was out for 10 days,now im better gonna rebuild it maybe this weekend

Put one of these on the 300, the thing is really capable in the tech stuff but my clutch finger gets tired. Action on release gets delayed a little, somehow they store a little energy on the return stroke to lessen the next action stroke.
It looks a little clunky, had to change the bend in the guard a wee bit to fit around it, big knob on the underside allows you to adjust how much assistance the spring gives.

At first I wasn't impressed, checked the stocker with my little pull scale and it was about 13 lbs; Clake was 12. Then I started spinning the little knob in to add assistance, went down to 3 lbs with more to go. Scorpa pull is a little over 3 lbs....but the action is better.

Have to wait another month to try it out, got a partial knee replacement around Christmas. Was out on the 500 today but it was just roads, no dirt. It seems like it will be just what I was looking for, probably end up around 5-6 lbs for the best balance of action and load.

Really curious as a fellow trials rider how you like the feel, in terms of engagement point, of the Clake. I've been considering getting one for my xtrainer and heard some people love them and others thought the engagement point was little hard to predict.

BTW that is an awesome scale! Will have to look into that. Sometimes the clutch on my TXT250 feels like it's significantly stiffer but could just be my imagination. Heal up so we can ride!!

Too soon to give you a hard time about being a wimp and having to modify a hydraulic clutch for easier pull?

Cool product. I may have to go down an internet rabbit hole to see how the energy is stored in the lever. Like the fact you actually put some real figures behind it with the pull scale.

I'd be curious what my YZ250 clutch pulls at on the scale with a fresh cable and smooth basket. Its definitely more than my TE300's hydro clutch, curious how much more.

I'm still adjusting to the 300's hydro clutch as I can't feel the friction/engagement point as well as I do with the cable clutch. Tend to grab more than I want when just trying to feather it a tiny bit.

Other than practice and time, any tips?

There is a small return delay when you release the lever, as you use less assist the delay is less obvious, I'll bet when it is loaded with the engine running its even less obvious. What I've been finding is i can slip out the way I want for about a minute or two, then my finger gets tired and I let it go too quick. That doesn't work well trying to get over bigger logs and such.

There's so much power on these bikes you can slip over a wider range so the action may not be d critical as it is with trials.

One thing I noticed with the 500 clutch is the new diaphragm style is a little more light switchy as opposed to the older spring style. I read that as it wears the Bellville washer flexes past its inflection point so it's harder to actuate. You have to get it past inflection to get it to release which takes more force. Supposedly there's a shim adjustment at the Bellville where you can deal with this, didn't look at it on the tx yet.

The only two things I never liked about cables were a change in action from heat and getting dirt in the housing. Bothered my enough on my 550 I did a hydro clutch conversion to the case. I'll be at Stonybarf, you can check it out and see what you think. With the higher first gear on the TX (vs the TE) and trials I seen to use the clutch a lot...

I mean, what's not to like about a lighter pull? (sometimes you just never know until you try it!)

I don't like running bark busters, and the Clake looks to me to be more vulnerable than a standard set-up(?).

I hope I get to see one in person some day (just remembered I did see one of their 2-finger units a couple years ago, but my brain was so busy considering the LHB, and that tangle of levers, I don't remember hearing anything about the "easy clutch" part.)
