You can see the Tokyo Skytree from here

More pix of Tokyo

This is a picture of the industrial areas in Kisarazu

Nice long bridge I'm not sure which on that is

You can see Odaiba here, the manmade island I passed by on the way here. You can tell by the ferris wheel.

These are the signs that line the top deck of Umihotaru

The stairs and escalators going up Umihotaru. There are like 5 floors! The first 3 are mostly parking garages, the rest are restaurants and shops!

Some interesting vehicles I saw in the garages:

Hey I didn't know Mitsubishi makes minivans!

Now here's an interesting one I see these EVERYWHERE in Japan from a company that has been extinct in the US for some time, Daihatsu Tanto

Another interesting box shaped car these types of cars are very popular here. Also notice the green and yellow leave marker sticker on the windshield. This is what's called a wakaba or new leaf. It signifies that the person driving this car is a newer driver, they haven't been driving long so watch out they might suck!

Ah ha here's an interesting one, it looks like a Honda Fit but its a mini minivan and it's a hybrid. Don't have any of those in the US

Toyota Altezza also known as a Lexus IS in the states

Ah ha here's a favorite of mine that's only sold in Japan because I'm the owner of one of the older generation models. This is a Toyota Estima also known as a Previa in the states. This is a newer model that is a hybrid and AWD I so want one!

Ahh yes the always popular vending machines, Umihotaru has tons of them. Look at all the goodies they have to offer! Also notice there's kind of a map for all the food places on top.

Here's a picture of one of the floors. Its got little restaurants and shops.

Get a little sippy sip of coffee and enjoy the view

Place to buy yum yums

Konbinis and more!

UFO catcher game place probably arcades also!

Here is a view of the Kisarazu side of Umihotaru from the top floor, the rest of the way will be by bridge.

You can see a kid ringing a bell here

Panoramic of the Kisarazu side

Panoramic of the Tokyo side

Commo

View of the parking for buses and trucks

Fish head to sit on.

Tokyo Bay Oasis sign

View of the top floor of Umihotaru's center section

So it's lunch time! I am eating at the top floor food court. Here they have an interesting way of ordering food. You buy a ticket of what food you want at these vending machines. Then you simply hand your ticket to the appropriate counter then they give you a vibrating ticket dealie and you pick it up later.

Here you see I'm going to order some Champon noodles. I don't think I've ever had Champon, looks a lot like Ramen.

Yummy it was delicious! I sorta spilled it a bit =P

It's about 1300 and I gotta move out cuz I got other places to be but before that I spot this Gashapon (capsule) machine and its one of my favorite animes Natsume Yujincho! Its like 200yen and you get some kind of Nyanko-sensei toy. It was Nyanko-sensei on a ladle you see at those shrines for washing yourself.

Before I go I take a picture of the motorcycles. There's some pretty cool ones!

Here is some kinda supermoto by Kawasaki. Looks kinda like a KLR/KLX250 supermoto pretty cool. Its a Kawasaki D Tracker 150.

Honda CB400 one naked and one not as naked. This is probably the most common motorcycle in Japan

They've got Ducatis here too

Another Honda CB

Interesting looking Ducati, kinda rocket shaped

Here's another interesting one a Honda 2-stroke sportbike

I think this is a Suzuki Katana

Somemore bikes on the otherside

A Kawasaki ZRX 1100

VMAX

Kawasaki GPZ 900 I think

Now here's my favorite one Kawasaki GPZ 400 custom

Straight up velocity stacks this must be loud

Nice exhaust and suspension

Ah yes my old friend a Zephyr 1100, notice it says Zephyr and not Kawasaki like the American ones because Lincoln sued Kawasaki for the Zephyr name. Not my favorite color though.

Its time to say sayonara to Umihotaru.

The rest of the aqua-line is a bridge, doesn't seem to pop up on Google Earth though.

The sign on the left says Kisarazu thissa way!

On the bridge

Hey look at R32 Skyline!

Jonathan suggest I get off the expressway here to save some toll money.

Alright I'm off the expressway and I stop at a Lawsons to figure where I'm going next. I'm trying to head to Mount Nokogiri a popular park where they have Buddha statues. Also if you wondering Lawsons is a another convenience store chain in Japan. Its equally as popular as 7-11, in fact I like their food better than 7-11, they sell Karaage on a stick so yummy =).

So you can see where I'm at on the bottom of the map right now. Gotta head off in the other direction. My plan was to ride around the whole Tokyo Bay but there just isn't enough time if you want to go and look at stuff. I think what I shoulda done instead of trying to save money by not taking the expressway is to just pay the damn money and save time on the expressway. I thought it would be more scenic to take the regular streets it wasn't sorta.

Heading down the Mount Nokogiri

So I'm off! Immediately you notice its totally different from Tokyo, its got that countryside feel to it, where tokyo is all building and industry.

I hang a left on to this street and I'm kinda baffled because for some reason it looks like a one way street and i feel like I'm gonna get creamed by traffic. But no that's just how this street is super narrow.

I think those arrows on the ground might mean one side has a right of way, allz I know is better stick to the left as much as possible. Or else...

Or else you'll get creamed by a truck!

Continuing on, notice how close I am to the oncoming car.

I am commenting on the PINK Toyota Prius C in this picture. I don't think I've seen a pink one also it's called an Aqua here.

ZOMG I spend so much time waiting at these lights

Ok so I'm not joking when I say I saw Super Mario, Luigi, and a Blue Power Ranger riding gokarts down the street. In this picture you only see the Power Ranger and it looks as if that POLICE car is escorting them.

I think this is a Suzuki GS

1980 GSX1100 Katana? Fun to see so many older bikes still
being ridden in Japan ...

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Suzuki_Katana

Hans Muth also designed the fairing on my '88 BMW K75s ...
if you squint at the K75s you can sort of see the resemblance to
the early Katana ...

Yeah its pretty crazy, Japan spends a lot of money on their roads and expressways. They say that many of the roads were just built just as a fun place to drive, as my ride report goes on you'll see a lot of those.

So here I'm turning onto a sorta expressway or a mainroad. I didn't think of it at the time but across the ways is an autobacs. Autobacs is kind of like a the US equivalent of a Pepboys. Might have been able to see if there was any cool Japanese car stuff if I stopped by, but the show must go on!

So here I'm checking out this little Kei car. I mentioned earlier that Kei cars are very small cars that have an engine size comparable to a motorcycle engine. They are popular cars in Japan because they are cheaper to own due to taxes, parking, etc... Think of a smart car or an IQ in the US. This one has an aftermarket muffler I can tell the tailpipe was so small haha.

Mcdonald's I have to try a Japanese McDonalds to compare! Many Japanese Mcdonald's are multifloor.

I spot a Datsun Fairlady Z parked here, also known as a 240z in the states. Yes I'm a car geek!

Lots of automobile dealerships on the road. You can see Honda on the right here and some kinda Italian restaurant on the left side.

Mazda

Oh a hobbystore, would have been nice to check it out but no time.

Another Honda dealership or service center. I notice some automobile places aren't dealers but just service centers. Whereas in the US the dealerships and services are usually together.

Mitsubishi

Toyopet or Toyota

Subaru
