As for Toprak, either he went home to Turkey and they won't let him back or Sofuoglu's demands to Yamaha were too high.

they should just sit him out for safety's sake and let someone else at least test and setup the bike proper for a race weekend. If Rossi shows up Saturday expecting to have a great setup for Sunday I'm betting he wont make top ten, which wouldn't be a good look for the Doctor or Yamaha, but if Gerloff doesn't make top ten it's expected, if he does it looks great for both.

That would make sense for Yamaha, but not much is making sense in 2020.

Rain is forecast for Friday and Saturday with Sunday expected to be dry so set up info from the practice sessions may not matter at all.

Can't say it's surprising. When you go through four out of five engines and all of a sudden start finishing races and going fast, something has to be up. It is somewhat surprising the riders aren't penalized as well, but that would turn the championship into more of a cluster than it already is.

I get the decision though.

To be totally fair in punishment they'd have to prove the riders were included in the cheat.
If they can prove that the riders knew the valves were changed then they could be penalized. However, if the situation is more like Management and Engineers telling the riders; "Don't worry about revving it, everything will be fine" then I don't see how a rider can be punished.

I think it's hard to say the riders had no idea, the bikes went from going pop to going brap. They knew it wasn't magic. I'm surprised yamaha only got penalized 4 point, sounds like something honda would have been able to get away with.

The penalty in the constructor's championship and team championship standings was more than four points.

Also Iker Lecuono is out due to his Bro testing positive. So that sucks. Maybe they can get Toprak out on there as a backup

Would have been cool to see Dani or someone else on the bike. Might be interesting to see what Miguel can do with the whole team focus on him. It's his first time here on a GP bike though, so ...
