Wanted - project dual sport

I want to build, re-build, restore, etc. a Japanese project dual sport.

Ideally a KLR650, DR650 or XR650L but any other would do.

Thanks

Contact a guy that goes by "mcma111" either on AdvRider or ThumperTalk. He hangs out at both places. He has all kinds of XR650L stuff, including frames and engines. He makes spare spending money rebuilding engines. He did a great job on mine when I ran it out of oil. He's in San Francisco.

Thanks, I'll do that, but not sure how an engine builder can help me? I'm the one looking to build the engine

Anyway, if anyone has a dual sport-ish bike rotting away in their backyard and wants to get rid of it, please shoot me a pM

He likely has a few "projects" that he hasn't gotten around to yet. And at least he should be able to tell you how good or bad the engine is.

I have a '92 Honda XR600R that has been plated for road use.
Registered Non-op currently. I believe it's the Baja Designs light kit.
Also has a Trail Tech Vector speedo/odo.

It does need some work to get usable again but I have most all the parts to do so. Carb is currently off bike, cleaned and ready for rebuild kit. (carb rebuild kit, caliper rebuild kits included).
It comes with the Supertrapp exhaust system on it. Stock exhaust comes with it.
Also comes with a larger (baja) gas tank. Not mounted.

Hot start kit installed so not as tough to kick start when hot.

I'd let it go for $1200 in current condition.
If I do the parts upgrade/install the price goes up to (at least) $1500.

Lemme know if your interested.

Hey John, definitely interesting, but a little older than I wanted.

I have a couple of leads on advrider, I'll let you know what I decide. Thanks,
