Earlier this year i finally cracked. After being FZ curious for many years I bought an immaculate 2009 with all the right upgrades. That's not what this thread is about.

While riding today i had to make a few passes and i just freaking love the buttery smooth roll on of a big I4. I sort of kick myself for waiting so long to get one and see why so many love them so.

I still love my thumpers and twins but there's a special kind of tickle from 147 super smooth HP.

That is all.

I get it, trust me.
I4s will always be my "thing" for the reasons you describe and more.
There is something to be said for buttery smooth "fuck you" acceleration.

The most buttery smooth bike I ever owned, and I've owned singles, twins and inline fours as well, was the triple in my K75S which had been breathed on by San Jose BMW/CC Products.

Nowhere near the power you guys are talking about but that was the best engine I've ever owned in terms of smoothness.

When I had a 130hp twin, never mind the power you guys are talking about, I did some naughty things with long lines of cars on straights.

Got rid of it though after I got my 35hp DRZSM oddly enough.

I guess there’s no need to comment if “ that’s all folks”.

Yours is the only 2nd generation FZ1 I’ve ridden and it’s well suspended to go along with that buttery stuff. There’s something to be said for the joys of liter bike acceleration. Your motorcycle path was tiered in a euro like fashion.

If you like 147 hp, try north of 185. Although I do have to contend with more weight. I'm not sure I've ever really had my bike to red line, but the torque is sublime.

Wicked acceleration on the pipe. Shit starts to happen really fast.
Then again, I don’t usually do that, except on the racetrack. Spinning it up to 15K rpm on the street is usually crazy.

Ah. Maybe I need a litre bike.
