Thumbs down Who Likes Rough Riders/ Stunters?

Just want to see how many people on here are for or against this growing "club" thing. I for one think they give us "real" motorcyclists a bad name.

My vote... Dont like.

IMO a lot of "real" motorcyclists are way too full of themselves.

To be clear, are you now lumping all stunting groups or riding clubs together with the RRs? If so, isn't that the same as cagers lumping all motorcyclists together as it's another form of generalizing and stereotyping? Believe me, that shit with blocking the freeway and all was lame beyond compare, but I'm not ready to use that to blast all stunters and/or clubs outright...

I just don't know that we need this sort of fuel on the fire right about now. The current BARF climate seems clearly against this sort of thing, where are you going with this thread? (honest question, I'm justing trying to find out what you hope to achieve with your poll)

Your poll sucks in that it doesn't differentiate between responsible stunters and idiot stunters. Grouping all stunters in with the Rough Riders is not very admirable.

When riding I love to do the occasional knee drag or hoist up the front for 1/8th of a mile in between turns...sometimes when i'm ahead with no traffic behind me I will bring up the rear before a turn. Every blue moon I will stand up and ride one out to 120, but I have to be out of sight and out of mind. Heck, I'll drop the clutch in 3rd on turn 9 on Thill to ride it out or rip wheelies all around Buttonwillow. Wheelies/stoppies do not make a person a stunter. Never have been part of a club besides getting a group ride together with friends...does this put me under your catagory of "die already" or "do not like"?

And about blocking the freeway for stunting...it was beyond stupid!

Sergio

+1

I'm not a fan of people who act like jackasses. I don't care if you're in a riding group, whatever, i do my level best to judge each person on their riding, and their actions. I tend to generalize a bit when 200 riders get together and block a freeway and are all from the same riding group, but I had a great fucking time at the we all ride stuntday thing. The stunt team they had there was fantastic.

Basically, I love watching people who know how to ride, ride their motorcycles. Trials, stunters, and knee (elbow?) draggers, all occupy a soft spot in my heart. Just do it in a safe, responsible place, so that i can laugh at your stories and you can pretend to laugh at mine at some point in the future.

That makes you a RUNT (rail and stunt).

Silly poll. The Ruff Ryders don't represent all stunters.

If people endanger/inconvenience themselves, I don't give a shit.

If people endanger/inconvenience the general public, they're assbags.

A perfect world: wannabe racers all do track days instead of blowing the dy on 9 and dying. Track days become so lucrative that half a dozen more tracks are built around the state.

A perfect world: local government sets aside a place for stunters to stunt legal without getting harrassed by the po-po. I saw on that Speed Superbikers! show that the city of Nice in France has a large area set aside for folks to practice their skills. Stunting becomes an olympic sport.

Everyone wins.

Meanwhile... the poll and question seem sorta inflamatory don't they?

Dont care for them myself its a racial thing dam sport bike riders!
Honestly giving stunters a legal place to stunt is a great idea but it would never happen here it makes too much sense.
Back in the fifties the drag strips were opened up to help prevent street racing now most have been closed and there arent many places to race legally so legal stunting areas are probably never going to happen either. In sacramento we are facing closure on our local ohv park which provide legal off road riding for millions of 4 wheelers, dirt bikers and atv users per year.
they want to close it to return the area to wilderness? yeah those dredging piles and tumbleweeds make a great place to hike.

if we're talking about groups like the RR who think they're such BAMFs that they can stop freeways while they stunt in T shirts, I'd say #1. But if you're a stunter and you do it without making a risky spectacle on public roads, then I'm all about it. I especially like it when stunters use sexy, clean bikes with full fairings. Since you lumped them together, I put "don't care."
