03-04 636/RR race tail install?

i'm sure i could figure out how to mount it (securely), but looking for ideas to mount it onto a stock subframe as well as secure the seat properly.

the seat latch needs the rear cowl to be removed to gain access and it'd be cumbersome to require the tail be removed every time i need to fiddle with the electronics, PC or otherwise.

Run a USB cable from the PC to an easily accessible part of the tail.

IIRC the tail on my 636 was mounted to the undertray at four points. I used a zip-tie at the front "points". Stan's pics will give you an idea since he now has the bike.

I happen to have the tail section torn apart waiting for the quick shifter, so it is not complete but I hope this helps you a bit.

The seat is held on be a lever that was fabbed up, and it has a cable underneath to pull it loose. I bought the bike this way and did not do any of the fabrication though.

The cable with a washer on it is just dangling in midair here, but tucks in nicely with everything buttoned up.

There's enough of a gap between the tail and seat that I could work the latch mechanically if need be. Note the zip-ties on the front of the tail section - that is all that holds the front of the tail piece on. The under-tail (not shown) is the only thing actually bolted to the bike, and the tail section mounts to that from underneath with some quick release fasteners and zip-ties as shown.

The tail section is just sitting loose for photo purposes, but is pretty close to where it would sit.
