AWESOME BUD!!! I have never seen the start pictures before

Yes those were the days where the grid actually went back down towards the old dragstrip start line! no really gals n guys, those first couple races to establish points was kinda scary for 2-3 turns going 3, 4 or 5 wide through T2 and 3, 3A. Keep in mind, we didn't know what tire warmers were back then! and I didn't have to make it 5 wide, but had to catch Budman, Kevin, Kurt, and Steve somehow. And catching them was only half the battle, try going around people when we are already 2 wide jostling for real estate. Made for some great memories and stories! But that damn Jimmy was usually up and gone though, man he could make that FJ fly!

Indeed Jammin Jimmy was the hot shoe of the 600 class.

My first race I started 74th.. went to 34th in the 11 laps and got lapped by some dude dragging pipes on the FJ. I still remember trying to be tall to see the flagman.. (danny I think)... and just think.. Barb was there.. and still is..

Actually if you look at the picture with us on the front row, I am pretty sure that's her right above your helmet
