Ya 19th. Ha, I keep forgetting I was gifted that spot too :/

The re-grid is in response to the 2-day format, an effort to remove pressure from the short single QP. So R1 is a qualifying session for R2, which is why laptime counts and not finishing position.

It was not an attempt to spice up the racing or anything as I previously guessed.

I haven't read anything more about Dylan since the visa issues were announced at Road Atlanta. Either there is a bigger problem or he was unable to get work visa.

Watched the Sunday Junior Cup, Supersport and Superbike races. Everyone of them was down to the wire. Good stuff.

I had a much better Race2. I finished in 18th, not much better. But the difference is obvious when u look at my lap times. My QP time was 1:37.4.

Race 1

Race 2

in Race 1, the bike was setup too aggressively. the gearing was too short and the geometry was too unstable. so I could run a fast time in QP, but couldn't sustain it. I fixed the gearing and improved the setup for Race 2. That plus some extra sleep helped A LOT. in Race 2, I finished 5% back from the leaders which is one my closest finishes ever. so im stoked.

Good job!

I don't know if you changed the blue color for your bike but the bike and your new leathers are a lot easier to spot on TV this year.

Ben Spies gave some interviews while he visited the recent Misano WSBK round in which former WSBK champ was all over the place with vague comments about returning to racing and he made some comments about the long term viability of MotoAmerica. RoadracingWorld talked to Spies and then to MotoAmerica management to address rumors spreading from Spies' comments.

Shots fired:

“And despite what Ben Spies says, it’s well-funded.” Varner continued. “I guess the rhetorical question I would ask is, ‘Who is Ben Spies to comment on our finances?’ He doesn’t know us. He hasn’t seen the financials. He used to race. Is he even relevant now? “
