Dunlop brought a new tire to Jerez. I blame AM's recent success on that.

I wonder if MM will miss his perfect setup again this weekend.

Hafizh "3H" Syahrin getting his OG on. BTW, Hafizh, Razlan Razali hates you.

Fabio "3R" Quartararo 0.111 off MM93 for first loser in FP1. Not too shabby after arm pump surgery. BTW, Fabio, Razlan Razali loves you.

The helmet "3O" homologation weirdness must be headed by ex-military personnel as it has its own acronym: FRHPhe

It's friggin' hot in Malaysia. No one does black.

I can't remember the last time MM finished this low in the first two sessions. He had a couple of moments off the pegs. And he was really slow on S-S tires. Hmmm. Honda losing some shine? Ducati still looks strong to me.

He seems to be moderating his gonzo recently.

From MotoMatters:

"Meanwhile, Marc Marquez proved that old habits die hard / practice makes perfect and spent his first handful of laps stalking the factory Ducatis. He then switched focus to a long run on soft rubber before oddly swapping to harder compounds while rivals were going for the time attack. The Spaniard never threatened the top of the timesheets and finished 17th, as the only rider not to improve his FP1 time, but he avoided any major drama and kept ninth spot on the combined standings."

Marquez is working on his race setup seeing what he can do at distance. He's probably already got a good enough base setup and doesn't need to fiddle around with winning FP sessions.

Valentino ROSSI - Qualifies better than 18th So far looks like that is a lock
Jack MILLER - Challenges for a top 5 again.-- So far this does not look like it will happen.
Cal CRUTCHLOW - Challenges for a top 7. --- Seems doable.
Maverick VIÑALES - Challenges Rossi in qualifying -- Not likely.
Takaaki NAKAGAMI - Continues to impress with another top 10 ---Nak is rocking!
Pol ESPARGARO - Gets a point --- Hoping that he gets a lot more than one!
Franco MORBIDELLI - Gets a couple more points than Pol. Probably still happen
Fabio QUARTARARO - Out qualifies Rossi and Mav. Super likely huh??
Aleix ESPARGARO - Gets 1 point more than brosef. --- Unlikely
Jorge LORENZO - Out qualifies Rossi. Unlikely
Joan MIR - won't sniff Rins exhaust, but beats Tito because his clock is slow. ---Too close to call.

Dovi will have it this round.

I'm thinking about going to a Euro GP next year with the fam. Either Catalunya or Assen fit in the schedule. Which would you pick?

I'm leaning towards Catalunya.

Barcelona itself is super fun, beach is in town(!), EZ 15-Euro/day bus round trip to track & back, etc., etc.

His combined time is suspect and you answered it all with Karel. Excellent!

Dennis is getting bored in the office. He is arguing with himself about MotoGP racing predictions.

Coincidentally, da' spouse and myself have been discussing the same races to attend. Gotta work it in with the touring, don't ya' know.
