If you love shitty weather, Assen.

Otherwise any Spanish/Italian round is a good choice..

agreed - Mugello itself is unmatched, the best Tuono Joice & I have attended (so far, including seaside Rimini/Misano), & tho nearby Florence is very nice, the overall Barcelona/Montmeló experience wins, period

on-the-ground MotoGP Q mini-report, from Tribuna Ducati (will edit soon with 3-foto sequence, offering 25 sec of viewing/lap - can’t get it done right now.....):

a shocking amount of waiting for a tow from non-front runners, including Cal & Mir

MM93, Mav & Rins clearly on it, ALL the time

roughly equal cheering for VR46 & MM93 -
virtually nuttin for anybody else,
tho my man Fabio’s pole met with much glee from stands

stands mebbe 1/3 full, a good chunk o’folks stayed after MotoGP Q for Moto2 Q process

Humoring myself again..

Clutchslip is right... working every day since I got back from Kernville has me a little loopy.

Alex RINS - Podium --- Rins also needs to fight through again. Tough break falling down in Q2. His FP4 pace also looks solid.
Danilo PETRUCCI - Top 5 --- We will see. 7th spot /R3 plus his less than stunning FP4 pace is making me doubt he will do it.
Valentino ROSSI - Qualifies better than 18th --- Nailed it
Jack MILLER - Challenges for a top 5 again. --- Probably fluffed this one.
Cal CRUTCHLOW - Challenges for a top 7. --- Seems about right.
Maverick VIÑALES - Challenges Rossi in qualifying --- Hell yes he did! He had solid FP4 pace, but with a full tank he still sucks. How far back will he fall before getting going?
Takaaki NAKAGAMI - Continues to impress with another top 10 --- Tough Q1 session. But I think he will still get the top 10. Solid race pace.
Pol ESPARGARO - Gets a point --- Solid job by Pol. Likely will get a few points. Top 10 seems possible if there is some carnage as his FP4 pace was not great
Franco MORBIDELLI - Gets a couple more points than Pol. --- Surprise surprise! Tough crash. He showed a lot of grit. Can he nail a top 5?? I think he will challenge for it.
Fabio QUARTARARO - Out qualifies Rossi and Mav. --- And everyone else!!!
Aleix ESPARGARO - Gets 1 point more than brosef. --- Hmmm... his race pace is slightly better than Pol, but he has work to do to beat brosef.
Jorge LORENZO - Out qualifies Rossi. --- Wrong, fail on my part. Rossi showed solid pace and Jlo while better than before still is not finding his full song on the Honda
Joan MIR - won't sniff Rins exhaust, but beats Tito because his clock is slow. --- Another surprise! Mir could crack the top 10. Two Daduki's in the top 10 would be sweet.
Quato is fucking fast... faster than his bike. Love to see the rookie and his teamate on the podium... with..... Rossi.

Viñales penalized three grid positions for "riding in an irresponsible manner being slow on the racing line and disturbing another rider." MV12 will start from sixth rather than third. Viñales said he thought he had received the checkered flag was on the cool down lap even though other bikes were still at speed. Mav pulled wheelie and then cruised on the racing line almost getting hit by Quartararo and also impeding Petrucci.

Where are we in this series and the rules and the equipment? Last race it seemed obvious that the Ducatis had the superior equipment and Honda had done a good job improving power. This week we have 4 Yamahas in the top 5, with the usual exception of the fastest guy being in the mix. (He is ALWAYS in the mix since day one.)

Quartararo is consistently fast on the same bike that people blame for other riders failing. I don't know if I like this mess, like it is. It is too damn confusing and I hardly know who to root for. Are just the KTM and Aprillia riders underdogs, or is everyone an underdog, depending on the track and tire and weather.

Must admit I'm liking the drama developing between Borenzo and WinOrBin.
If Borenzo starts winning on that bike it'll be a big middle finger to Puig and his boy.
