Someone putting debris on Hwy 9??. Aug 14, 2020

Is this real? Has anyone encountered this or have a CHP report?

If Hwy 9 is your regular route, please be aware that someone on or around August 14th, 2020 was deliberately putting nails and oil on the road.

It's far more likely one of the blue collar tweakers that lives in SLV spilled a box of roofing nails in the bed of his pickup and rather than take the time to clean up the mess is just letting them rain all over hwy 9.

And I'd check to see if the oil is actually diesel, the aforementioned hill-scoggins love to top up the tanks on their flatbeds / trucks and forget to put the gas cap on before heading up the hill.

This. A million times this. Hanlon’s Razor applies here.

Many years ago there was a similar event but the claim was that oil was put down in a turn. People freaked out, and IIRC later it was discovered that someone crashed there and the oil was put down by the crashing motorcycle.

Yeah, when I say this post my first thought was the oil incident. You should always assume this can happen. It's one of the reasons, why I always ride my first pass out and in on 9 at slower pace, looking at for debris and road conditions. That said, you should never be ridding so fast that don't have a plan B, C, etc.
