Insurance ad.

Progressive Insurance runs ads, aimed at motorcycle insurance buyers, using moto-centaurs as attention getters. To attract and hold our attention as they pitch their product.

I think the ads are goofy and ineffective. What do you people think of that campaign?

No worse than any of the other motorcycle insurance ads from the other companies. I.e., they're all bad.

Those progressive commercials are quite cringey.

Yet somehow my insurance agent said they were the best deal for me.

Just note that AAA does not offer MC insurance in CA, yet they take out all day long infomercials talking about how great they are on main stream broadcast channels. They must be making a fortune...

I thought the ad with the guy riding with an open face helmet through a swarm of bees with a big, goofy grin ,was hilarious. I contacted Progressive and they actually sent me 3 copies, large size on poster paper. I thought that was pretty cool of them.

They don't really do anything for me. Many of them make it painfully aware how disconnected from motorcycle culture their marketing team is.

Also, I've had Geico in the past, and can categorically say that they are an awful provider, so I suppose I have a bias.

The Motaur thing.... Meh. Stupid as hell.
Bird to the face. Day dreaming rock ballad singing strikes a chord.

None make a difference on my choice but nice to be entertained.

I’ve always wondered why there were so many motorcycle insurance commercials on cable and radio in general. Seems kinda niche and if you have a motorcycle you already know you need insurance and will probably just use whoever’s insuring your car.

There is one I like,

Three riders, lead on a Triumph, Road King, some metric cruiser.

How much extra the lead rider earns for the unprotected long blonde hair in the breeze? Must have professional help with that.

Other two, great timing, both lifting out of a corner in unison, just no big whack of throttle. They all do look comfortable together as a for reals ride.

It won't be AAA branded, but they supply moto insurance in CA. It also counts towards multiline discounts, and I've been happy with them for the one claim I've had...

They are on par with 99% of ads these days : terrible and stupid, I'd rather spend the day at DMV than watch even a second of any of them. They all look like they were written by elementary school teachers for kids. At least at the DMV you can often times get some goofball weirdos to observe, and some amusing arguments between the disgruntled teller bots and their highly esteemed clients out of the deal.

AAA brokers the insurance with American Modern Insurance Group, HQ in OH, and yeah all billing and policy is AMIG branded. I don't know what AAA gets out of it. Maybe the AAA insurance agent gets a commission. Maybe AAA is required to offer MC insurance in CA. My policy used to be direct with AAA about 10 years ago.

It looks like AMIG has a 1.5 star rating here: https://www.yelp.com/biz/american-mo...e-group-amelia
