Hey everyone, I recently found out about the triple concept and it is something I had thought about before but never thought it was real. This forum page is the best source of info I have come across so I really appreciate everything I have read.
I have two questions that I am wondering if you could answer. Is it possible to do the triple concept with the ninja zx6r specifically the 07 08 model? Also, has anyone tried using a converted 600 as a commuter bike? what happens to the mpg? |

Not sure on the MPG. I'll report on my next tank but I'm usually 25/75 commuting/screaming in the twisties. |

As for moding a ZX6, yes it has been done and the rider did not report any issues. The base is the same, unplug the fuel injector for the chosen cylinder and plug in a dummy. If there is a shower injector, do the same thing. That is pretty much it.

Thanks for the replies you two! This is definitely something I am interested in doing.
Dangerzone it would be nice to hear what the mpgs are if you ever get around to it! I don't have the zx6 yet but am planning on picking one up this winter having sold my drz400, my previous bike was a ninja ex250. I wonder how much worse the triple would be for commuting than my previous bikes. It has been 8 years since I started riding and I have on and off wanted a sv650 or recently the new ninja 400 as a commuter/hopefully some track riding. But now I think getting the 600 (which is cheaper than the ninja 400 atleast to buy) and doing this mod will potentially be the bike I have always wanted without needing to do to much work to it, and it being reversible is a plus. When I get around to it I will for sure be back with more questions, I will be keeping an eye on this thread and this forum since it seems like you guys have a great community and a lot of good information. Thanks again! |

If you're going to be riding it both street and track, one million percent get the SV650 or Ninja 400, depending on budget. A criple on the street may have similar displacement to a Ninja 400, but power delivery will be way, way different. On top of that, commuting on a supersport is no fun. Ergos are not comfy.

I understand that commuting on a SS is not the smartest choice but it has been something I have thought about and am willing to try for sometime. Regarding budget, I am only trying to spend around 3.5 and where I am located the Sv650s seem to only be a couple of hundred dollars cheaper than the zx6r and the ninja 400 is still pricy on the used market. I am still on the fence on what to get but have been really contemplating just getting the 600 and doing this mod, the power delivery of a 600 would be nice but I would prefer to have something around 70 hp or so when I go to a track or want to practice my technique more. Mzarra where would I be able to find a dummy plug for the injector? Last edited by Elethwen; 10-05-2018 at 02:49 PM.. |

Gsxr 600 conversion to 450
Could someone contact me about doing this conversion on a gsxr 600 for a streamliner I run at Bonneville? I have read the complete postings and still have questions. Thank you.

I have done a '12 GSXR. first thing you need to decide is are you going to do the cam grind method or just the injector? I posted this rather than DM you so everyone can join in on the fun.
What year GSXR? Have you mapped it yet? if so with who?

If you are still looking, I have a pair of very well sorted out R6 cripples that I am selling. I loved racing them and built a ton of skill on them, but will be only racing 400s next year (unless they don't sell). Email me for specifics.
