Snowface rides to Eugene: Ducks vs. Bears (long)
the story
so my other tour this year was heading down south to corona with the in-laws for a wedding. It was a hot, dry, smoggy, traffic-y trip – but still a blast. this ride was to be the opposite. my brother attended the University of Oregon, and planned a ride for me and a co-worker to head up to the Duck vs. Bears game this last saturday. the plan was to head up thursday and friday and return sunday and monday.

day one
song #1 – Runnin' Down A Dream we had scheduled the ride around a co-worker’s schedule – leaving SF at noon and making our first stop in redding. he used to have a bike in college, and hadn’t owned one for a few years. just bought a new 1200GS with all the fixins. however, a family emergency forced him to drop out last minute so it was just to be dos hermanos for this one. we met up at the 505/128 at 10am. still stuck with the hotel we decided to just make an easy day of it to redding. our first stop for gas was in willows.

there were quite a few fires burning on the way up, not sure exactly what and why…

lots and lots of truckers. hit a snag for a few miles as they’re repaving a large section of the 5 just north of willows.

Those are some fancy bellbottoms ya got there!
 Just kidding. I did a ride a couple of weeks ago, up to Florence, OR and then back down through Crater lake, Klamouth falls and WEED! When I got back to 5, it was 5 + hours of 102+ heat. That was the night it didn't even cool off in the South Bay. 87 degrees at 10:30 at night. |
