San Jose to Santa Barbara and back

I rode down to Santa Barbara to see a friend this weekend, despite a leaky main seal and a dying fuel pump, and took some pics along the way.

The route I took down was mostly twisties + some work on 1 and 101. On the way back, I left late and had to get home fast, so I just hammered it out on 101 for 3 hours. Total was a little over 700 miles.

mpg @ 80mph, sitting upright: 43
mpg @100mph, semi-tucked: 37mpg

Here's the route

One determined, large-headed man, with a lot of miles ahead of him

After some miles, that familiar scent traveled through my Schuberth's efficient, German vents and hit my nostrils

My ears perked up, my mood lightened, and the road in front of me no longer seemed so long.

I made my way down the hill and made a left on highway 1, it was around 2 pm)

Arriving at my destination, my rear seal had won the prize

But the bike was still sexy

Still in love with that rear end

Saturday afternoon, we decide to hit up a golf course so I could try my hand at golf. After 45 minutes at the driving range, we do the 9-hole course. I'm happy to report that for my first time out, I did pretty well. My swing is teh suck but getting better.

Here I am sizing up the shot, which usually ended up with me swinging and swatting the ball an entire 25 yards, up, and to the right.

Here's my buddy Krutik, who fell in love with the driver

Arresting hook deployed, cleared for landing

That's pretty much it. Thanks for tuning in

awesome pics and great story of your ride.

Im from monterey and have a lot of experience ( in a car ) where you were actually riding in and around. I've been around forthunterliggit and down the 1 towards big sur and into SLO.

Yet to take the 250 out to bigsur and down the 1 but I know it will be a complete blast. Have just not had the courage of traveling out on beach cliffside yet. Only about 1 month old on riding a bike. Anyway enjoyed your pics and having a somewhat nostalgia feelings of these old roads.

+10 awesome

Safely? I'll let you know as soon as I figure it out No, but seriously though, if the road is straight, I just pull the camera out of my chest pocket and snap some quick ones. If I'm in twisty territory, I turn it on while it's still in the pocket, rotate it so I can shoot left-handed, pull it out, take a ton of pics, and hopefully 1/5th will come out good

sounds pretty dangerous for some moderatly decent pictures, no offense or anything. cool idea though, just don't think i would try it. HA Ha

I thought you were doing it with a little still camera mount and just had it revered and would reach down with your hand and click the button. thats pretty clever how you do it.

54k. And people still confuse it for a new bike on a daily basis
