A day on coast,my first ride report
Hi folks,
What a nice day today. I was overwhelm by work last couple of week(end)s Today I got up 7:00 am to get everything ready and wait for my friend jason to show up. Leave house at 7:50 with Sara, my wife and Jason. Our original destination was Mendocino. We quickly fly over 280 and go through 19th st. When we pass GG brige the weather is clear and cool. Nothing better than this. We followed HWY 101 all the way. By the time we get to Cloverdale its around 10:50 am. We ordered the last minute breakfast. Fun start here, we were off 101 by taking 128. 128 really wake me up. The last few miles ride in the redwood forest are awesome. Jason took HWY 1 south when 128 end. He want to get home EARLIER. ![]() He is anti-photo and not too cooperate. . We take quite a few stops cause I was really tired. I am a cheap baster and try not to get into to the restaurant along the road but finally gave up at Bodega Bay. Soda and fish'Nchip kept us going for the rest of way home. Following Jason's GPS we take a left turn. That leads us to Petaluma and back to 101. I had to take another break before we start ride on 101. It's over 300 miles. Once we get back to 101, it start getting dark. We stop by a Korean restaurant and had a good meal before head home. It was 420 miles when I was back home. This is not the longest single day ride but close. Here are few pictures. The light house are at Point Arena. Enjoy. Jason has a passenger too. She stay in Jason's Kangaroo's bag. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Nice report.
As a suggestion for next time, head a little farther North to Leggett and come over to the coast through the redwoods. In the summer, you leave the heat and head into the fog or cooler coast weather. Really a nice ride. And since you're coming down that way, might as well hit Egg Head's in Ft. Bragg for breakfast ![]() |
