Gary J pics

Post 'em if you got 'em.

This man was the poster child for the "pay it forward" ethic and he will be sorely missed. Let's remember the good times.

Love the vid....

Hearing Johnny Winter roar in the background of Muddy Waters still makes me giggle when I hear it, so thanks for sharing that.

This is my one and only photo I took of him. It was from 2008, when I had just gotten a new point and shoot cam at the time, so I took it out with me during one of my regular weekend rides up 9/35/84 to test out. As usual, I ran into Gary at Four Corners, like we usually did and continued to do every weekend, sometimes at STP.

He and I never actually did ride together per se, we were just always running into each other on and off the bike, on the street and even the track. Last time I saw him was, of course, last weekend, when I last rode to STP.

Gary, I'm going to miss running into you, but it was a pleasure sharing the same stretch of road and track while we did.

Pure sadness.

I am grieving so hard right now for a guy who, quite honestly, I hardly knew. I've ridden with him in the SC Mountains, had lunch with him, chatted about things, but didn't cross paths with him as much as I could and should have. He was a credit to motorcycling in every way. If there's a genuinely good person available to you, make the time. You just don't know when that choice might be taken away.

And I feel horrible for his family.

Absolutely right there with you. A few rides, a lunch or two and waves passing in the hills and I'm shaken deeply by this loss. More than anything the aching humility of knowing a far better rider with tons of skill and judgement died today on a road I "know". It's stunning and heartbreaking. He was a tremendous asset to the community of riders.

Just so...wrong.

awwwww, damn that sucks to hear. I've have the honor of riding with him one time by chance during a small group ride from alice's. Didn't even know who he was or the story about him. All I know is my first thought (silently to myself inside my helmet while we were riding) was "who the fcuk is this guy on this little pussy ninja 250?". Then he whooped all our asses. Yep, gonna miss the legendary GaryJ

Here's a photo I found of Gary on the 'net.
