Celebration of Life For Andrew Nolten 4/19/14

All:

The Nolten family would like to invite you to celebrate the life of their son and brother Andrew Nolten on Saturday, April 19th from 1:00pm to 6:00p.m.

Where: 585 Eagle Tree Lane, Felton CA. Please see directions and parking instructions below.

What to bring:
Please bring an appetizer to share. Water and soft drinks will be provided.

Important message from Mrs. Nolten. Mrs. Nolten has asked that no motorcycles be present. Please respect her wishes. This is a difficult time for the family and a special time to pay your respects to Andrew. Please show them that our Motorcycle Community is filled with love and respect like I know we are.

Their house is located at the top of the hill by Zyante and parking is limited (they can see the road from their home so again, please do not ride to this event). Therefore, you will need to park either by the Winery or on Old Mount Road (where East Zyante and Upper Zyante meet). I will set up shuttle service at the winery gates with my vehicle which will fit 6 people, to make it easier on everyone. I am horrible with importing maps as they never work for me, so please use the address above for your directions. Or, if someone wants to import one here, feel free

We ask that you please RSVP to me so the family can have a headcount and so I can set up carpool timeslots. Feel free to call me if you have any questions. (408) 426-0696.

We truly hope to have a good turn out. Andrew would have wanted all of us to celebrate his life this way.

Thank you Marci. Totally understand why mom wants no motos. I hope that time will change her view and she can understand why her son chose to ride and why we do. The human spirit is strong in our two wheel world. God I feel for her. Having a few kids in that age range and the thought of losing one of them. Oh my.

Plan on seeing you there. Sure do appreciate your effort.

I would also ask that attendees be thoughtful in what they wear and do not wear Moto related clothing.

Thank you for posting this Marci, and for volunteering to help with the management of this event. I'm really glad I finally get to meet you, even though it's in the worst possible circumstances.

For everyone who can't attend, I've asked to have Andrew's ashes go on one last group ride when I get them. I'll either meet you guys at the beginning and end and send the ashes in my pendant, or if there's enough I'll also meet you at a beautiful spot he enjoyed to scatter some.

I know the area pretty well, so here is a hint. Zayante Road is narrow and windy, and a lot of extra traffic on a weekend would create a hassle. Old Mount Road and Eagle Tree Lane are tiny. While there is quite a bit of parking at the vineyard, it might be overwhelmed by the attendance. And if a lot of cars show up, managing the parking might become a hassle.

Therefore, I would suggest that people carpool as much as possible.

Coming from Silicon Valley, the sensible way to go is to take Bear Creek Road (the turnoff is right after Lexington Reservoir from Hwy 17), go up Bear Creek, turn left on Summit, and nearly immediately turn right on Zayante. Taking 17 all the way to Summit is not only a bit of a detour, but also has a long section of single-lane road (remember, Hwy 35 = Summit Road is single lane between 17 and Zayante). On weekends that single-lane road tends to be busy with visitors, who are not very experienced in handling it, leading to slowdowns (or worse).

Hello.
I am Andrew's sister, and I've been talking with Marci trying to get everything organized for tomorrow.
In response to the user above who posted about the directions, his directions to Eagle Tree Ln are correct. However, a family friends worked at the house yesterday making room for parking, and it's looking like there will be plenty of room for parking on the driveway.
Once on Eagle Tree Ln, 585 will be the first driveway on the left and is marked by two mail boxes on the right and a small sign at the entrance to the driveway. We will also be posting signs. Once you're going up the driveway, continue through the gate and there is a large open area on the left that is for parking.
This is an open celebration with no set plans, come and go as you please, and be there to remember Andrew and his life. We will be sharing stories and singing him happy birthday at some point as well.
Jenn I love your idea about taking Andrew's ashes on one last ride and scattering some at a place he loved; I would like to be a part of that as well.

Ok, I have to call this. It is with great sadness that I cannot attend Andrew's celebration tomorrow. I have been fighting a bad chest cold all week and heading to ER this evening to make sure it's not pneumonia

I will be there in spirit. Please contact Maggie should you have any questions or need help with anything. If you cannot get in contact with her, you can contact me.

I can't begin to tell you how upset I am about this
