It's with both great joy and tremendous sadness that I announce this rally. Joy because it's the highlight of my summer. Sadness because cancer has robbed us of a damn good man. Formerly known as Midsummer Magic, it is now the Hoho Magic Rally after our dear friend Horacio Posadas, who passed away on 5/10/19. There will be a memorial ice cream social on Saturday evening after dinner. The man loved his ice cream, we love him. It seems right.
As Kurt (flying_hun) put it, HoHo was great at showing up, at being part of our community, at being a welcoming voice for a newcomer. Please follow his example and show up for this rally. If you're new, if you're nervous, just show up. We will welcome you.

Where: 49'er Gold Country Inn. (530) 623-4937 880 Main Street, Weaverville, CA 96093
What: Rally + Saturday night dinner (In the works) + miscellaneous shenanigans. Oh, and ice cream. The roads are amazing, the rooms are cheap, there's fun to be had. You have no excuses.
Give the hotel a call ASAP and get yourself a room. Please make sure to mention you are with BARF. Last year we sold out fast. If the 49'er is full then call the Motel Trinity down the road at 1270 Main Street and make a reservation there. (530) 623-2129
Any and all BARF members are welcome to attend. All you need to do is register once I get that set up (post Kernville). Check back soon!
Your responsibilities
Sign-in and Check-in
Be aware that we do have a sign-in/check-in policy. Please refer to the Participant’s Package when it becomes available.
Early Departure
If, for any reason, you decide to depart early from the rally, you must notify a rally coordinator, or ask another participant to relay your intent to a rally coordinator.
What’s a Rally?
This is not an organized or guided group-riding event. There are no designated leads or sweeps. This is a rally with pre-determined routes, common points-of-interest and destination for the participants. The daily starting point and time are provided to allow the participants the greatest opportunity to enjoy the company of other BARFers and BARFettes along the way for the duration of the rally. Participants are free to band into groups of their choosing, and at their own risk.
You are responsible for yourself
Riding a motorcycle is dangerous. You are responsible for your own safety. Proper riding gear, a valid CDL/M1, vehicle registration and proof of insurance are highly recommended. You are also responsible for the good operating condition of your motorcycle. The good condition includes general mechanical condition, as well as the condition of wear items such as chains and sprockets, brake pads, and tires. In short, YOU are the Captain of your own ship.
Expenses
You are responsible for your own expenses. Budget for lodging, entrance fee(s), gas, food, beverages, and anything you may need along the way accordingly.
