Well, It's been a while since I posted anything even though I have been riding a lot still!

So, on October 26-29 we did a great ride in the Shaver Lake area using a base camp off of Dinkie Creek road.

I have to say that I am a fair weather camper and was caught a little by surprise at 22 degree mornings!!

There were 5 of us, all BARFer's. MJJ put this together and had a great itinerary!

Did I say it was Cold!

First day was just getting to camp in Shaver Lake.

We all met MJJ at the public "Potty" there at 4;30 and proceeded to camp!

Friday's ride was incredible! The views go on forever!

Saturday started out wonderful with breakfast in North Fork and more incredible views, some OHV trails which I only got on video.

After a wonderful ride back to camp Saturday afternoon, MJJ took a turn a little wide and ended up in the dirt and crashed. He was very fortunate that it was not a rocky area and we did have cell service. CHP and fire were there within 15 minutes or so.

He sustained a concussion and a broken bone in his left hand. Out cold for several minutes, we were really concerned.

If you don't know how to get coordinates off your GPS, figure it out before going out. Also, there is a great App called "What 3 Words". A must have. It gives your coordinates by triangulation. Give the 911 operator the 3 words and they will know exactly where you are!
So, MJJ got a helicopter ride into Fresno, We went to camp for the night and had to figure out how to get all his camping equipment on our bikes and get it to his house.

Thankfully, MJJ is doing fine, just doesn't remember anything past breakfast!

Bummer about MJJ. Out cold is no joke.

It's not like this is anything unusual, I usually only remember breakfast.

Mark it's funny that your avatar is an eye ball. I swear I have never seen more dilated pupils in my life as you were starting to come to.

It's the most important meal of the day! Glad you're ok for the most part. Heal up.

I recently deleted my What 3 Words app, but probably should rethink that. Sounds like it was pretty helpful.

Those cold temps make it hard to get up and get going.. Brrr..

Yeah, I had never heard of it either but Mike M. (Aufroad) had it. He wasn't sure how to get coordinates off the GPS at first and remembered the app. Saying not sure if it will work in all places but it is much easier to say 3 words than GPS location numbers.

I still carry the Garmin Inreach mini wherever I go. Just a little more peace of mind.

And, Yes! It was hard to get out of the warm sleeping bag in the morning! We were abel to have a good fire at night and morning. Sure helped!
