Since I’m a newbie to dirt bikes, I'm looking for an extra set of rims and seeking any advice about setting up the bike for the street. Like advantages of 17” sm rims over stock 18-21 with dual sport tires? Any opinions/advice would be appreciated. Thanks.

Nice choice in bikes :)

I'm in the middle of converting my TE630. Checkout CafeHusky for more info but basically it depends on what you plan to do with your street set of wheels.

If you just want some longer wearing street tires to save your aggressive dirt tires you can get some 90/10 street oriented tires for a second 18/21 set of rims. Get a second set of stock rotors and sprocket to make changing over easier.

If you are looking to sumo it all the way and maybe even take it to the kart tracks, you may want to consider 17's and the SM brake set up. You get to put on even stickier tires (slicks if you want 'em for track only, or something like pilot powers if you just wanna do canyon carving) and upgrade to the SM front rotor.

Fair warning, I've been told switching over to 17's awakens your inner hooligan, so buyer be ware :D

Thanks for the info. Guoseph. Since this is my first dirtbike, I was thinking exactly what you were saying about just getting another set of stock tires with street oriented tires until I get more comfortable, then maybe do the sumo set up. I saw this set of SM rims on ebay from China. Have you heard anything about MX Racing rims?
