Well that result was unexpected..
Wow.Lando and Oscar DQed from the Vegas race, barge board too thin post race inspection. Oops!
I also believe teams shouldn't be punished for breaking the rules as long as my most disliked driver gets a raw deal out if it.I don't think they're doing enough to hand the championship over to Max.

I do understand you skepticism with regards to Max (I sometimes agree). But it is not like the FIA went under both McLarens with a grinder to make the planks fail. Rules are rules and McLaren goofed. All cars (that ended in the points) were checked and only McLaren failed (by .07mm). The rules are very clear with regards to the planks.I don't think they're doing enough to hand the championship over to Max.

Have you been a competitor in racing. Racing is a little different where it is the engineers duty to exploit the rules (it is what they are paid to do). If the rules do not say NO then it is open game. This goes all the way back to Karting. I did it with my KT-100 motor where I read the rule concerning Intake Track Length and where it was measured from. I figured out a way to lengthen the length with gaskets between my Carb and the Mounting surface which gave me more bottom end. It was checked and passed. Not with the sport of the rule, but I got away with it.RB and Max have been exploiting the absolute letter of the rules for years. They aren't racing as much as they're exploiting every aspect of the rules and using bullying tactics to force other drivers to back down or crash.
No, I don't like Max and RB, I don't believe they are true sportsmen, they are opportunists to the Nth degree. And at least for his first Championship, the FIA has shown favoratism towards them and through the following years.
I'm a competitor who believes that competitions should come down to who is the best athlete on that day, not who is best at playing dirty tricks.

F1 is a multi billion dollar business where winning pays. Some of the most innovative things have come from the engineers exploiting the rules (double blown diffuser, vacuum car, Tyrel 6 wheel car, etc). These exploitations (by every team) will continue as long as racing exists.

That I 100% agree with you. Max is a dirty driver. But I would not blame Red Bull (other then them not putting a stop to it). Max is a very good and calculated driver. I admire his talent but do not like him.
In used to think this way, but after reading more on him, I'm not so sure. He's friends with many of the guys he races close with. The difference is; Max knows he's able to intimidate drivers by challenging them to make contact. When drivers start holding their lanes and make contact with max/ max makes contact with them; heavy enough to damage his car and severely hamper performance, Max will change his tactics. At the front, every driver/ rider learns this...and most don't challenge, they settle in. Intimidation is a big thing in the racing world...and when you have it and know it, it's used to bully other competitors. Just another tool....the other drivers can solve it, but they're worried about losing their rides and thus; lose championships. Gotta hit back. He's a total douchebag.
An extremely talented douchebag. Possibly the most talented douchebag ever.
But if you're going to be a douchebag, you gotta be good, and he's got that part down.
Professionally douchetastic. Personally he seems pretty regular.Agree; similar thing for me when rate-of-change TC came out by Bazaaz. This was ruled illegal at the club level and I got caught with it...when asked what it was by Club President, I told him "It's Bazaaz". Got DQ'd (by the President; a good friend) and appealed to the BOD. Explained it wasn't TC, but rather, engine management (which it was). No new sensors, no wheel speed TC, but rate of change. I won the appeal and that opened the whole club up for it. IIRC, that was the only time I "cheated" with anything, however.
Max is autistically fantastic, IMO. He's also a racer meaning; when the helmet goes on (or visor goes down), he's in hunter/ killer mode. You know all of this; no friends (well, close to that), all out win. Max uses his intimidation status. See below.

Honestly I wish any penalties etc... were shown to the FIA with cars and drivers missing any logos so they can't tell who they are looking at.RB and Max have been exploiting the absolute letter of the rules for years.
