Hi All-

I am reaching out on behalf of Travis Ohge who suffered a head injury after crashing during the SuperSport race this past weekend at Laguna Seca ( approx. lap 8).

Travis' head trauma was substantial, resulting in a coma for 5 days before regaining consciousness and breathing on his own. Now that his condition has stabilized, the doctors are trying to determine how quickly the rehabilitation process can start.

Up to now, the medical staff and family don't know how the crash occurred or what would have caused the strong impact to the head (highside, bike landed on him?, etc). Unfortunately the TV footage does not show the crash, just the medical staff attending to Travis.

If anyone was corner working turn 6 or was spectating from that corner during Saturday's AMA SuperSport race and had a good view of what happened please reach out to me directly. Any information will be helpful to the doctors and medical staff still working with Travis. I believe it will also help the family to put into context the series of events.

Travis' condition update can be found at the link below. You can reach me directly at jeremycleland@gmail.com. On behalf of Travis and his family we thank you for the help.

As a courtesy to everyone, thanks for not posting any second hand information about the crash or comments directly in this thread. Thanks-

I will see what I can get in the way of reports from our Turn 6 workers. I know the CMO (Chief Medical Officer) has been in touch with the hospital already and I'm sure he passed along the reports from the medical staff who was there at the corner but I will double check.

In addition to information... Heal up young man. :ride

If you would like to help offset the substantial medical costs and additional travel expenses the Ohge family faces contributions can be made via PayPal to Rob.Ohge@gmail.com.

The family will continue to provide updates on Travis’ condition as they become available in the coming days on Travis Ohge’s Facebook page.

Hi Everyone-

Thank you for everyone's help and feedback. We were able to get several people to discuss what they saw from their vantage point. It has helped shed some light on Travis' injuries that were not so clear before.

This makes the picture clear on how aggressively the doctors can push the rehab efforts and most of all has stopped the guessing game for parents and medical staff. Thanks again for everyone's help.

Glad to hear you got some info back. I checked on our reports from the weekend and talked to one of the "in charge" medical folks who was there. She had spent some time at the hospital with the family and she confirmed the details of the incident were passed along.

Oh shite! Yuck. I spilled in the Corkscrew 1st time there, GLAD YOU'RE OK!
(Is Ohger Sr on here ever? GREAT guy!!)

As a former NMP, I wish the rider has a complete and rapid recovery.
