Awesome picture competition...

Do I spy space between the pavement and the front tire? :wow

Just a wee bit, but yeah.

Torque spec for motorbike... tight enough but not too tight. You're not building an engine, you're assembling a freakin' simple street bike.

Note that the A-10 Thunderbolt/Warthog is not mentioned.

I recently had a discussion with a family friend who is former army service member with the Army. According to him the A-10 is or was the infantrymen's best friend. Having an A-10 pilot come in low and slow, make visual contact with friendlies and then fuck the shit out of bad the guys was a huge confidence booster to the guys on the ground. If f-16's were coming in it just was not the same. They were there and gone before anyone knew it so there was only really one chance to get it right.

I just don't see a better manned jet being more suited to close air support then the A-10. Not to mention its tough and cheap. Sexy? Nope. Effective? Fuck yeah.

A10's sound amazing? Huh. Maybe when lightin' shit up, but those turbo fans don't sound like much. Kinda the point, but they certainly do not thunder like an F16 or just about any other F model made in the past 40 years.
