I have only had my BMW F800GS about three weeks now. After a 1,200 mile, eye :wow:wow opening two day north coast/hwy 36 ride with KTMken and Speedycorky I was looking for a loop with a little dirt.

My gps track starts and stops at the Chevron gas station on the south side of Hollister along Hwy 25. It is a 134 mile loop from this Chevron station.

We headed into Clear Creek via the Coalinga rd entrance near the Blue Sky ranch.

Be careful of the first 2-3 creek crossing along Coalinga and Clear Creek rd, they are slimy with moss but after that they are pretty clean up the canyon. My Michelin Anakee 2 tires worked fine at 28psi for the whole ride.

I would bring some water, the temps were between 95-100 degrees in Clear Creek for June 1st and its a ways to the Panoche Inn for a drink..:teeth

This is my Garmin GPS track for the Clear Creek ride.

Very cool! It's been a while since I've been out there. I need to make some time to go ride CC again.

This is one of my very favoritest stretches of roads in CA...nice and bumpy and scenic and just great fun all the way. The Clear Creek loop is a good one :thumbup

Thanks for the report and photos!

max speed 112 mph...:wow how'd the front end feel on 800 GS at that speed :)

Panoche Inn ...

Hey mtbjeff,

We always like to stop in at the Panoche Inn when it's open ...

Did you notice any progress on the planned Panoche Valley solar farm while you were there? I think it will be near the Panoche Inn ...

We had fun chatting with the owner last time we were at the Inn ... think he's from England ... he spoke spanish with valley residents who were dropping in to pick up supplies they'd have delivered at his place ... interesting to see that community coming together around his business ...

Thanks for riding and posting!

+1 Even if I just buy a coke. Happy to contribute to keeping his business open. Because I've been through there on scorching days and that coke was heavenly. I want to make sure it's there and ice cold for me next time I need one!

I didn't noticed the solar farm, but I also wasn't looking for it ether.

The Panoche Inn was like an Oasis in the 97 degree heat on Friday!

Nice ride, did you explore Panoche road past the Y to Idria? It's a really quick 6mile (each way) dirt section that dumps out near I5...fun. :ride
