I have only had my BMW F800GS about three weeks now. After a 1,200 mile, eye
opening two day north coast/hwy 36 ride with KTMken and Speedycorky I was looking for a loop with a little dirt.
My gps track starts and stops at the Chevron gas station on the south side of Hollister along Hwy 25. It is a 134 mile loop from this Chevron station.
We headed into Clear Creek via the Coalinga rd entrance near the Blue Sky ranch.
Be careful of the first 2-3 creek crossing along Coalinga and Clear Creek rd, they are slimy with moss but after that they are pretty clean up the canyon. My Michelin Anakee 2 tires worked fine at 28psi for the whole ride.
I would bring some water, the temps were between 95-100 degrees in Clear Creek for June 1st and its a ways to the Panoche Inn for a drink..
This is my Garmin GPS track for the Clear Creek ride.

Coalinga Rd and Hwy 25
Clear Creek entrance off of Coalinga Rd
Clear Creek Rd at the start of the dirt.
Two inchs of water in the creek on June 1, 2012
4,300 feet up on Idria peak in Clear Creek.
Looking down on the ghost town Quicksilver Mine of New Idria.
The New Idria mine furnace.
Nobody's home..
Panoche Inn for a drink in the 97 degree heat.
Fun roads on the return to Tres Pinos
