If I ask YouTube or Google which ear plugs are the best I get this top 5 list and that top 5 list but the "top" brand in one review is NOT the "top" in the next one I read or view. There doesn't seem to be a definitive "best" that appears across multiple reviews.
There are so many out there. I've been using Earpeace ear plugs for a couple of years and like them but I'm looking for something new.

There are electronic ear plugs that utilize noise cancellation, "loop" style ear plugs, plus so many others using different methods that all claim to be good. Apple Air Pods 3 have good noise cancellation but I hear they fall out when the helmet goes on.
Something in ear would be ideal, either electronic or not.

These would be for noise cancellation only, I don't listen to music or GPS instructions but want to be aware of sirens, etc.
For sure, I don't want the pink foam cheapies or ones that are custom made.

Find ones that fit. To small and they do not work, to large and they hurt and you will take them out.

I was gonna say go to Kaiser and get a pair made. I love mine.

Otherwise, Howard Leight’s laser lites.

You're looking for 'noise isolating' not 'noise cancelling'.

I buy the highest NNR I can find. I use these: https://a.co/d/08Ac5oXd

+1 for the Howard Leight’s laser lite. I've never felt any discomfort, even after a long day in the saddle. I've had custom molds made 2X. Both sets eventually leaked in my left ear. I had the first set redone and same results. Learn how to properly insert the foam plugs as there is a definite technique. I see riders walk into my store everyday with ear plugs half hanging out of their ears.

Some of the electronic ear plugs advertise as having ANC so that’s what I went with.

I’ve also come across “SNR” and “NNR” which has led me further down the rabbit hole. I think “NNR” is the term used in the US.

The more I search, the more confused it becomes with differing terminology.

Personally I buy these for my commute. I swap them out every week to keep them fresh so a tub lasts me a while.

I tried regular Hearos and they made my ears ache. I think I have a smaller ear canal.
Went to Hearos "Sleep pretty" in pink and can wear them all day. They are smaller and softer.
Still NRR 32
