Need to get a replacement for this 52v battery. It's taking a charge fine but is old (3 years) and many posts state UPP used bad cells and low quality parts. The BMS might not even be operational which can lead to over charging etc. Really dont want to have a fire.

I have some feelers out for batteries but thought I'd ask BARF. Battery box internally is about 373mm x 212mm x 78mm. Battery has to fit those dimensions.

Legit paranoia with unknown li-ion cells just because the consequences are so high, even if pretty unlikely. Also why I don't like li-ion and use lifepo4 for my projects. Anyway, my favorite company for li-ion is probably ebikes.ca just because it's a topic that nobody wants to talk about, yet they're putting in the time and money to be on the right side of things. At the same time, don't accept this recommendation or any recommendation just yet....

Here's ebikes.ca talking about the issues, it's pretty informative. I think you should watch the video to inform yourself well enough to be able to find the product that you want, otherwise it's really easy for chains of uninformed recommendations to propagate. My opinion is, if you watch the video, you probably wouldn't ask anyone to build a battery for you.

And here's rossmann talking about your current brand of battery....

Def watch those later. Lifepo4 wont work for the current location due to size. Also much heavier and costly. I know a few Bullitt bike buliders that had lifepo4 batteries made but easily twice the size. Doable I guess. I was looking into a em3ev a battery. Might got that route to get the bike done and not worry about charging issues. Ebikes.ca don't carry naked style flat batteries it looks like.

Pacific E-Bike in Emeryville does custom builds. I was going to have them build a custom battery for a Onewheel. Hi-C batteries builds replacement and upgraded batteries for Juiced Bikes. They were all a 52 volt architecture.
