favorite line from a song?

The summer sun is fading
As the year grows old
And darker days are drawing near
The winter winds will be much colder
Now you're not here

A beautiful song, Justin Hayward. Sir Richard Burton narrates on the album. Not lyrics, but a bit of background. Back to the underside of my rock now....:mstingray

Parked out back of an Outback there is an Outback that towed an Outback.

Alas my love you do me wrong
To cast me off discourteously
For i have loved you so long
Delighting in your company

Greensleeves

I love these songs we sang in school in England as wee bairns in the early '60s. These, and listening to classicals on the BBC; Holst, Beethoven, Liszt, Schubert, Handl, Brahms, Schubert etc. Eh, Gustav Holst,
. We would walk into music class and be told to sit cross-legged on the floor (wood). I wish I had some of the music sheets; such awesome music, sorely under appreciated then (and most certainly now). My punishment was to learn to play the euphonium, which I gave up on after about a week stuck in a cupboard playing the scales. I still have my recorder though; Strawberry Fields Forever! Wait, what happened to my rock? Where did it go?:eboy

Ooh
Something's got a hold on me now
It's a feelin', burnin' like a love on fire
Hold me tight baby
Don't leave me by myself tonight
'Cause I don't think I can make it through the night

RIP Eddy Money

Come on now, try and understand
The way I feel under your command
Take my hand as the sun descends
They can't touch you now
Can't touch you now, can't touch you now

I'd go running through the thicket
I'd go careless through the thorns
Just to hold her for one minute
Though it'd leave me wanting more

Can't you see, Oh Lord can't you see, what that woman Lord, she's been doin' to me

Sentimental favorite from Dawes

Late night drives and hot french fries and friends around the country
From Charlottesville to good old Santa Fe
When I think of you, you still got on that hat that says, "Let's Party!"
I hope that thing is never thrown away

I hope that life without a chaperone is what you thought it'd be
I hope your brother's El Camino runs forever
I hope the world sees the same person that you've always been to me
And may all your favorite bands stay together

Noah Kahan - Stick Season
As you promised me that I was more than all the miles combined
You must have had yourself a change of heart like halfway through the drive
'Cause your voice trailed off exactly as you passed my exit sign
You kept on drivin' straight and left our future to the right
Now I am stuck between my anger and the blame that I can't face
And memories are somethin' even smoking weed does not replace
And I am terrified of weather 'cause I see you when it rains
Doc told me to travel, but there's Covid on the planes
And I love Vermont, but it's the season of the sticks
And I saw your mom, she forgot that I existed
And it's half my fault, but I just like to play the victim
I'll drink alcohol 'til my friends come home for Christmas
And I'll dream each night of some version of you
That I might not have, but I did not lose
Now you're tire tracks and one pair of shoes
And I'm split in half, but that'll have to do

Sometimes pushing people around
Sometimes pulling out the rug
Sometimes pushing all the buttons
Sometimes pulling out the plug
It's the power and the glory
It's a war in paradise
A Cinderella story
On a tumble of the dice
